PERAN PRODUSER PADA PROGRAM DOKUMENTER TELEVISI “KARSA: SANG PENGHUBUNG ASA”

Television can fulfill the need for information and public insight. The presentation of a program is very important, from concept to packaging, which is broadcast by the program itself. One program that provides information to the public is a documentary program. Documentary is an information program aimed at learning and education but presented in an interesting way (Morissan, M.A. (2017:222)). As a producer who views the needs of today's society interms of the need for insightful information, ideas and concepts were born to create a documentary program that meets the needs of learning and education, namely the creation of the final project work of a TV documentary program entitled Karsa. The role of the writer as a producer is responsible for the entire implementation of production activities. Coordinating the implementation of pre-production, production and post-production (Rusman Latief and Yustiatie Utud (2017: 7)). The obstacle that the author faces is how to act as a producer to create a television documentary program that is worth watching. The theories that the author uses are Producer, Television, Television Characteristics, Production Systems, Types of Program Broadcasts, Television Broadcast Program Formats, Information Programs, and Documentaries sourced from theoretical books about television producers and broadcasting by several authors. The methods that the authors use for data collection are observations and interviews. The final result of the production process of this final project is a tv documentary called KARSA which contains the first episode of "Sang Penghubung Asa".

Televisi dapat memenuhi kebutuhan akan informasi dan wawasan publik. Penyajian sebuah program sangatlah penting, mulai dari konsep hingga pengemasan yang disiarkan oleh program itu sendiri. Salah satu program yang memberikan informasi kepada masyarakat adalah program dokumenter. Dokumenter adalah program informasi yang bertujuan untuk pembelajaran dan pendidikan namun disajikan dengan menarik (Morissan, M.A. (2017:222)). Sebagai produser yang memandang kebutuhan masyarakat saat ini dalam hal kebutuhan informasi yang berwawasan, lahirlah ide dan konsep untuk membuat program dokumenter yang memenuhi kebutuhan pembelajaran dan pendidikan yaitu pembuatan karya tugas akhir program dokumenter tv berjudul Karsa. Peran penulis sebagai produser yang bertanggung jawab atas seluruh pelaksanaan kegiatan produksi. Melakukan koordinasi pelaksanaan pra produksi, produksi dan pasca produksi (Rusman Latief dan Yustiatie Utud (2017:7)). Kendala yang penulis hadapi adalah bagaimana berperan sebagai produser untuk membuat program dokumenter televisi yang layak untuk ditonton. Teori-teori yang penulis pakai adalah Produser, Televisi, Karakteristik Televisi, Sistem Produksi, Jenis-Jenis Siaran Program, Format Program Siaran Televisi, Program Informasi, dan Dokumenter yang bersumber dari buku-buku teori seputar produser dan penyiaran televisi oleh beberapa penulis. Metode yang penulis pakai untuk pengumpulan data adalah observasi dan wawancara. Hasil akhir dari proses produksi tugas akhir ini adalah sebuah program dokumenter tv berjudul KARSA yang memuat episode pertama “Sang Penghubung Asa”.
