In 1975 rock climbing became a complete and separate activity outside the forest mountain. The sport of rock climbing continues to develop with the existence of a federation that is now called the Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation. The main subject in the creation of the work "Rock Climbing in Sports Photography" is a person who has a rock climbing activity / sport. The author's goal in creating the work is to describe to the public about the sport of rock climbing which is still a little interest in Indonesia. The use of the theory of journalistic photography, sports photos in the creation of such works. Based on the discussion, it can be concluded that what is considered in the sports photo is in terms of the limitedness of human resources in the creation of works, weather and risks - risks that exist in the sport of rock climbing. Keywords : Sports Photography, Journalistic Photography, Rock Climbing Olahraga Panjat Tebing dikenal di Indonesia pada tahun 1960-an dimulai dari organisasi – organisasi pencinta alam seperti, Wanadri dan Mapala Universitas Indonesia. Pada tahun 1975 panjat tebing menjadi kegiatan yang utuh dan tersendiri diluar gunung hutan. Olahraga panjat tebing terus mengalami perkembangan dengan adanya wadah federasi yang sekarang bernama Federasi Panjat Tebing Indonesia. Subjek utama dalam pembuatan karya “Panjat Tebing dalam Fotografi Sport” adalah orang yang berkegiatan / berolahraga panjat tebing. Tujuan penulis dalam penciptaan karya tersebut adalah ingin menggambarkan kepada masyarakat tentang olahraga panjat tebing yang masih sedikit peminatnya di Indonesia. Penggunaan teori fotografi jurnalistik, foto sport dalam penciptaan karya tersebut. Berdasarkan pembahasan dapat di simpulkan bahwa yang di perhatikan dalam foto sport yaitu dari segi keterbatasaan sdm dalam penciptaan karya, cuaca dan resiko - resiko yang ada dalam olahraga panjat tebing.
