Peran Penata Gambar dalam Pembuatan Program Dokumenter Televisi “Benar Luar Biasa” episode “Tuna Ganda”

The writing of this Final Project report aims to describe how the role of the sinematographer in the television documentary program "Benar Luar Biasa: Tuna Ganda" in determining the mood and look that will be built from the treatment made by the scriptwriter and is responsible for the visuals produced. The selection of the disability theme from this final project is based on the public's one-sided view of persons with disabilities. With the television documentary program "Benar Luar Biasa” episode Tuna Ganda", the author intends to provide information and education about the life portrait of people with disabilities, especially double blind. It also explained how the obstacles that arose during the production process of the television documentary program "Benar Luar Biasa: Tuna Ganda" and their
solutions. The theoretical basis used includes the notion of television, television documentary, expository type and genre of portraits in documentary, as well as a review of the work role of sinematographer in the pre-production, production and post-production stages. Based on the production process, it can be seen that the image stylist has a role in determining the mood and look, making floor plans and shotlists, identifying tools, monitoring camera and lighting blocking, maintaining visual continuity, and communicating with image editors regarding offline editing
and online editing with the program director.

Penulisan laporan karya Tugas Akhir ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana peran penata gambar pada program dokumenter televisi “Benar Luar Biasa: Tuna Ganda” dalam menentukan mood dan look yang akan dibangun dari treatment yang dibuat oleh penulis naskah serta bertanggungjawab atas visual yang dihasilkan. Pemilihan tema disabilitas dari karya Tugas Akhir ini didasari dengan adanya pandangan sebelah mata dari masyarakat terhadap penyandang disabilitas. Dengan adanya program dokumenter televisi “Benar Luar Biasa” episode “Tuna Ganda”, penulis bermaksud untuk memberikan informasi serta edukasi mengenai potret kehidupan dari penyandang disabilitas khususnya tuna ganda. Dijelaskan juga bagaimana kendala yang timbul selama proses produksi program dokumenter televisi “Benar Luar Biasa: Tuna Ganda” beserta solusinya. Landasan teori yang digunakan meliputi pengertian televisi, dokumenter televisi, tipe ekspositori dan genre potret pada dokumenter, serta tinjuan peran kerja penata gambar dalam tahapan pra produksi, produksi hingga pasca produksi. Berdasarkan proses produksi, dapat diketahui bahwa penata gambar memiliki peran dalam menentukan mood dan look, membuat floorplan dan shotlist, mengindentifikasi alat, memantau blocking kamera dan lighting, menjaga continuity visual, dan berkomunikasi
dengan penyunting gambar terkait offline editing dan online editing bersama pengarah acara.
