PERANCANGAN FILM PENDEK ANIMASI 3D “THUNDERCLOUDS” BERTEMA KEBERSYUKURAN (GRATITUDE)

ABSTRAK
3D environment in one of the technique in making three-dimensional (3D) animation. It is a three�dimensional object model that focuses on the environment and its constituent elements. In the
process of making 3D animation, the environment is one of the most important things that must be
present because of its function as the place where all activities in making an animated film take
place. Environment has a close relationship with film characters, as well as being a reference for
the audience in the process of identifying the characteristics that contained in animated films, even
without being expressed through dialogue and narration. In this study, the design of the environment
in the 3D animated film "Thunderclouds" was designed according to the theme of the story about
gratitude. The purpose of this study was to analyze and implement 3D environment techniques in
the 3D animated film "Thunderclouds" which is in accordance with the theme of the story about
gratitude and can be liked by teenagers. This research used qualitative method with data collection
techniques through qualitative questionnaires, literature study, and observation. Then the data
analysis was carried out in a descriptive analytical manner through interpretation techniques to
process the research results. From the results of the research, it was found that in order to present
an environment that fits the theme of the story of gratitude, it is necessary to choose the right object
coloring and background object that displays the peaceful atmosphere and natural elements.

Salah satu teknik dalam pembuatan animasi tiga dimensi (3D) adalah 3D environment. 3D
environment adalah model objek tiga dimensi yang berfokus pada lingkungan dan unsur-unsur
pembentuknya. Dalam proses pembuatan animasi 3D, environment termasuk hal terpenting yang
harus hadir karena fungsinya sebagai tempat berlangsungnya semua kegiatan dalam pembuatan film
animasi. Environment memiliki keterkaitan yang erat dengan karakter film, serta menjadi acuan
bagi penonton untuk proses identifikasi sifat maupun ciri khas yang tertuang dalam film animasi,
bahkan tanpa diungkapkan melalui dialog dan narasi. Dalam penelitian ini, perancangan
environment dalam film animasi 3D “Thunderclouds” dirancang sesuai dengan tema cerita yaitu
kebersyukuran (gratitude). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan
mengimplementasikan teknik 3D environment di dalam film animasi 3D “Thunderclouds” yang
sesuai dengan tema kebersyukuran dan diminati oleh remaja. Metode yang dipakai adalah metode
dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan datanya melalui kuesioner kualitatif, studi
pustaka, dan observasi. Kemudian dilakukan analisis data secara deskriptif analitis melalui teknik
interpretasi untuk mengolah hasil penelitian. Dari hasil penelitian, didapat bahwa untuk dapat
menghadirkan suasana environment yang sesuai tema cerita kebersyukuran, perlu memilih
pewarnaan objek yang tepat dan pemilihan objek latar yang lebih menampilkan suasana serta unsur�unsur alam.
