TINJAUAN MASALAH SCUMMING PADA BUKU PAKET MATEMATIKA IV DI MESIN GOSS 630 CV PANCA KARYA SEJAHTERA

The offset printing process is an indirect printing process, meaning that the transfer of ink from the print reference is not directly on the printed material, but through an intermediary medium, namely a new rubber cloth cylinder (blanket cylinder) on the printed material. The principle of offset printing technique is the principle of repulsion between water and fat (ink) on the print reference, where the part that prints attracts ink and rejects water, while the part that does not print attracts water and rejects ink. There are various print problems that occur on the GOSS 630 Machine, such as missregister, scumming, dot gain, break paper, ghosting. The purpose of writing this paper is to find out the flow of the print production process, the causal factors of the dirty mold problem (scumming), and control solutions. The author uses data collection techniques with observation, literature study, and interview methods. In this discussion, we can find out the flow of the print production process, the factors that cause the problem of dirty prints (scumming), namely the printing plate that is not clean, the setting of the water roller and the cleanliness of the discussion unit, the pH and conductivity of the wetting water solution and how to control the scumming problem so that as a responsible party such as an operator, must work optimally to improve the quality of the print by controlling during production.

Proses cetak ofset adalah proses cetak tidak langsung, artinya peralihan tinta dari acuan cetak tidak langsung mengenai bahan cetak, tetapi melalui media perantara yaitu silinder kain karet (blanket cylinder) baru mengenai bahan cetak. Prinsip teknik cetak ofset adalah adanya prinsip tolak menolak antara air dan lemak (tinta) pada acuan cetak, dimana bagian yang mencetak menarik tinta dan menolak air, sedangkan bagian yang tidak mencetak menarik air dan menolak tinta. Terdapat berbagai permasalahan cetak yang terjadi pada Mesin GOSS 630, seperti missregister, scumming, dot gain, break paper, ghosting. Adapun tujuan dari penulisan karya tulis ini adalah untuk mengetahui alur proses produksi cetak, faktor penyebab dari permasalahan cetakan kotor (scumming), serta solusi pengendalian. Penulis menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data dengan metode observasi, studi pustaka, dan wawancara. Pada pembahasan ini, dapat mengetahui alur proses produksi cetak, faktor penyebab masalah cetakan kotor (scumming) yaitu pelat cetak yang kurang bersih, pengaturan rol air dan kebersihan unit pembahasan, pH dan konduktivitas larutan air pembasah serta cara pengendalian masalah scumming sehingga sebagai pihak yang bertanggung jawab seperti operator, harus bekerja optimal untuk meningkatkan kualitas cetakan melalui dengan melakukan pengendalian ketika produksi.
