TINJAUAN PROSES CETAK KEMASAN KARTON DUPLEX MENGGUNAKAN MESIN OFSET HEIDELBERG CD 102-5 WARNA DI PT LETTER MAS INDUSTRY

Offset printing is an indirect printing process or sheet printing technique
regarding quality. The better quality of a product, the higher interest of consumers
to buy the product. The purpose of this observation is to find out the problems that
occur during the duplex carton packaging printing process using the Heidelberg
CD 102 offset printing machine are misregisters, hickies on the printouts, stripes
or uneven colors on the printouts and damaged rubber fabric. The methods that we
used were observation and interviews with Heidelberg CD 102-5 color printing
machine operators and literature study. The way to solve problems that affect the
printout is to rework the printing plate and blanket so that they are not loose due
to the condition of the plate cylinder gripper not being tight, cleaning the dirt due
to dry ink or paper fibers sticking to the blanket or plate cylinder, resetting the
water and ink rollers according to machine standards, and resetting and cleaning
the Double Sheet Detector Sensor.

Proses cetak ofset adalah proses cetak tidak langsung atau teknik cetak
lembaran mengenai kualitas/mutu. Semakin baik kualitas suatu produk, maka
akan semakin meningkat minat para konsumen untuk membeli produk tersebut.
Tujuan dari pengamatan ini adalah untuk mengetahui permasalahan yang terjadi
saat proses cetak kemasan karton duplex menggunakan mesin cetak ofset
Heidelberg CD 102-5 warna yaitu misregister, timbulnya bintik-bintik (hickies)
pada hasil cetak, terjadinya belang atau warna tidak rata pada hasil cetak dan kain
karet rusak. Metode yang digunakan yaitu observasi serta wawancara dengan
operator mesin cetak Heidelberg CD 102-5 warna dan studi pustaka. Cara
mengatasi permasalahan yang mempengaruhi hasil cetakan adalah pemasangan
ulang plat cetak dan blanket supaya tidak kendor karena kondisi gripper silinder
plat tidak kencang, membersihkan kotoran akibat tinta kering atau serat kertas
yang menempel pada silinder blanket atau plat, penyetelan ulang rol air dan tinta
sesuai standar mesin, dan melakukan penyetingan ulang dan pembersihan pada
Sensor Double Sheet Detector.
