Abstract

The internet is a technology that has progressed very rapidly at this time, with a very wide reach, from various regions now they can access the internet. With the development of information technology, it is also widely used in various ways, especially to promote a new business or venture. however, there are still many new MSMEs that have not utilized information media to introduce their businesses so that they are better known by the wider community, for example, such as UMKM Promise boba. This business was started in 2020, this business is engaged in the culinary field, especially in contemporary drinks. However, there are obstacles in introducing UMKM products and the use of social media as an information medium is not yet optimal to develop this business. This study uses interview methods and field observations to design product catalog designs that are simple, attractive, and easy to understand, as well as apply design concepts that suit the needs of UMKM. This study aims to overcome problems in introducing UMKM businesses to the wider community by utilizing product catalog media and social media. The final result is a product catalog in the form of a book and online catalog through the official account of UMKM Janji Boba Medan. It is hoped that this research can help Promise Boba UMKM be better known by the wider community and make it easier for customers to choose menus.
