PERANCANGAN BUKU ILUSTRASI SEBAGAI MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BAGI ANAK SD/MI TERKAIT PENTINGNYA RANTAI MAKANAN DI EKOSISTEM LAUT

The food chain is an important thing for survival in marine ecosystems. The sea has many benefits for life, the largest source of food and fish, produces 50 percent of oxygen for land organisms from phytoplankton, absorbs carbon dioxide and is a source of raw water for drinking. However, public awareness about the protection of marine ecosystems in Indonesia seems to be still very minimal. Ironically, most of this plastic waste always ends up in the ocean due to mismanagement. Efforts that can be made to protect the marine ecosystem from contamination by plastic waste need to be handled appropriately, such as the 3R (Reuse, Reduce and Recycle) concept. Seeing this phenomenon, the author initiated an Illustration Book Design about Food Chains in Marine Ecosystems because the Illustration book contains an explanation that is combined with illustrations that illustrate the explanation, making it easier for children to understand the contents of the book. Through this final project, the author hopes that this final project can make it easier for children to understand the importance of the food chain in the marine ecosystem and make it easier for teachers at MI Al-Khoiriyah to provide material about the importance of the food chain in the marine ecosystem.

Rantai makanan merupakan suatu hal yang penting bagi kelangsungan hidup di ekosistem laut. Laut memiliki banyak manfaat bagi kehidupan, sumber makanan dan ikan terbesar, menghasilkan 50 persen oksigen bagi organisme darat dari fitoplankton, menyerap karbon dioksida dan sumber air baku untuk minum. Namun, kesadaran masyarakat tentang perlindungan ekosistem laut di Indonesia tampaknya masih sangat minim. Ironisnya, sebagian besar sampah plastik ini selalu berakhir di lautan karena salah urus. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk menjaga ekosistem laut dari tercemarnya sampah plastik yaitu perlu dilakukan penanganan yang tepat seperti dengan konsep 3R (Reuse, Reduce dan Recycle). Melihat fenomena tersebut, penulis menggagas sebuah Perancangan Buku Ilustrasi tentang Rantai Makanan di Ekosistem Laut karena buku Ilustrasi berisi penjelasan yang yang digabung dengan ilustrasi yang menggambarkan penjelasan tersebut, sehingga mempermudah anak-anak dalam memahami isi dari bukunya. Melalui karya tugas akhir ini penulis berharap karya tugas akhir ini dapat mempermudah anak-anak mengerti akan pentingnya rantai makanan yang ada di ekosistem laut dan memudahkan guru-guru di MI Al-Khoiriyah untuk memberikan materi tentang pentingnya rantai makanan di ekosistem laut.
