Perancangan Busana Pria Plus Size Dengan Ilusi Optik Hering

Obesity or being overweight is a problem that is often found throughout the world. According to Basic Research Data (Riskesdas), in Indonesia the prevalence of the adult population who is overweight and obese is 21.7%. Apart from obesity, another problem faced by plus size men is feeling insecure when they dress. Feeling unsuited to the clothing models on the market because of the monotonous models. There are still a few brands that accommodate plus size men's clothing with cuts that give the illusion of the body. This study aims to create a vulture optical illusion motif and a plus size men's clothing design. The vulture optical illusion can be used in clothing to create a slimming effect on the body. This research method uses the Thinking Hasso Platter. The author was driven to create ready-to-wear plus size menswear with the Vulture optical illusion. In the process of creating this final project, the author applies the vulture optical illusion with line motifs to manipulate the body shape of plus size men to make them look slimmer.

Obesitas atau mempunyai berat badan berlebih adalah masalah yang sering ditemukan di seluruh dunia. Menurut Data Riset Dasar (Riskesdas), di Indonesia prevelensi penduduk dewasa yang mengalami berat badan lebih dan obesitas sebesar 21,7%. Selain masalah obesitas, masalah lainnya yang dihadapi oleh pria plus size adalah merasa tidak percaya diri pada saat berpakaian. Merasa tidak cocok dengan model pakaian di pasaran karena model yang monoton. Masih sedikit brand yang mewadahi pakaian pria plus size dengan potongan yang memberikan ilusi pada tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat motif ilusi optik Hering dan desain busana pria plus size. Ilusi optik Hering dapat digunakan dalam pakaian untuk menciptakan efek ramping pada tubuh. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Thingking Hasso Platter. Penulis terdorong untuk menciptakan busana pria plus size siap pakai dengan ilusi optik Hering. Proses penciptaan karya tugas akhir ini, penulis menerapkan ilusi optik Hering dengan motif garis untuk memanipulasi bentuk tubuh pada pria plus size agar terlihat ramping.
