Perancangan Busana Ready to Wear Deluxe dengan Teknik Rust Dyeing dan Pewarna Alam Jalawe

ABSTRAK

Calamira is one of the growing SMEs from 2016 in the Depok area that produces various types of household needs products such as mukena, bags, pillowcases, tablecloths, chair covers, refrigerator covers and others. Calamira's unmet problem is the demand for ready to wear clothing that is comfortable to use by its customers. For this reason, the author aims to help Calamira by designing deluxe ready to wear clothing with rust dyeing technique and jalawe natural dye. Rust dyeing is one of the potential alternative natural dyes because this dye is not widely known, used and easy to process and can create unique or one of a kind visuals and produce different designs and color effects in each manufacturing process as well as environmentally friendly and safe coloring techniques. Jalawe (Terminalia bellirica) is also one of the plants that can be used for natural dyes. The design method used is the Hasso Plattner Stanford design thinking model with five stages, namely Emphatize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. Based on these problems, the author made a design for Calamira clothing that can be used for non-formal and semi-formal activities with a feminine casual style and Japanese look that was realized into 3 look prototypes, namely, 2 ready to wear deluxe and 1 ready to wear for early adult women aged 26-35 years.

Calamira adalah salah satu UMKM yang sedang berkembang dari tahun 2016 di daerah Depok yang memproduksi berbagai jenis produk kebutuhan rumah tangga seperti, mukena, tas, sarung bantal, taplak meja, penutup kursi, penutup lemari es dan lain-lain. Permasalahan Calamira yang belum terpenuhi yaitu permintaan busana ready to wear yang nyaman digunakan oleh pelanggannya. Untuk itu penulis bertujuan agar dapat membantu Calamira dengan membuat perancangan busana ready to wear deluxe dengan teknik rust dyeing dan pewarna alam jalawe. Rust dyeing merupakan salah satu pewarna alam alternatif yang potensial karena pewarna ini belum banyak diketahui, digunakan dan mudah diolah serta dapat menciptakan visualisai unik atau one of a kind dan menghasilkan desain dan efek warna yang berbeda-beda pada setiap proses pembuatannya serta teknik pewarnaan yang ramah lingkungan dan aman. Jalawe (Terminalia bellirica) juga termasuk salah satu tumbuhan yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pewarna alam. Metode perancangan yang digunakan adalah design thinking model Hasso Plattner Stanford dengan lima tahapan, yaitu Emphatize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, dan Test. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut Penulis membuat perancangan busana Calamira yang dapat digunakan untuk kegiatan non-formal maupun semi formal dengan style feminine casual dan look japanese yang direalisasikan menjadi 3 look prototype yaitu, 2 ready to wear deluxe dan 1 ready to wear untuk wanita dewasa awal usia 26-35 tahun.
