Perancangan Busana Convertible Pada Wanita Dewasa Awal Dengan Pengaplikasian Uis Karo

There are still many people who generalize that the traditional cloth in North Sumatra is only Ulos Batak, but in fact the Karo tribe itself has a traditional cloth called Uis Karo which has different characters and cloth motifs and has different functional values from one another. The application of Uis Karo to Karo ethnic products is still relatively small, so the product offerings with the application of Uis Karo are also small. So the purpose of this writing is to create ready-to-wear clothing products with the application of Uis Karo with Uis motifs that are unique to this tribe as an effort to differentiate Uis from other traditional North Sumatran fabrics by using the convertible technique which is intended for early adult women. The method used is a qualitative method with the Hasso Platner Stanford approach which has five stages of the process, namely Emphasize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. The results of the design of ready-to-wear clothes that have been designed by the author with the selection of the Uis Pengret-ret motif and have neutral colors and can be transformed into several forms of clothing, the author has also carried out various series of tests on users and respondents to Karo women workers and 95.3% of Karo women are interested in buying this product. convertible that can switch functions so that early adult women can have a variety of looks in one clothing product

Masih banyak masyarakat yang menggeneralisasikan bahwa kain tradisional di Sumatera Utara hanya Ulos Batak saja namun pada kenyataannya pada suku Karo tersendiri memiliki kain tradisional bernama Uis Karo yan memiliki karakter dan motif kain yang berbeda serta memiliki nilai fungsional yang berbeda satu sama lainnnya. Pengaplikasian Uis Karo pada produk etnik Karo masih tergolong sedikit sehingga tawaran produk dengan pengaplikasian Uis karo ini juga menjadi sedikit juga. Sehingga tujuan dari penulisan ini untuk menciptakan produk busana siap pakai dengan pengaplikasian Uis Karo dengan motif Uis yang khas suku tersebut sebagai upaya diferensasi Uis dengan kain tardisional Sumatra Utara lainnya dengan menggunakan teknk convertible yang diperuntukan untuk wanita dewasa awal. Metode yang dilakukan merupakan metode kualitatif dengan metode pendekatan yaitu Hasso Platner Stanfoord yang memiliki lima proses tahapan yaitu Emphatize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, dan Test. Hasil perancangan busana siap pakai yang telah dirancang oleh penulis dengan pemilihan motif Uis Pengeret-ret dan memiliki warna netral dan dapat di transformasikan menjadi beberapa bentukan busana, penulis juga telah melakukan berbagai rangkaian test kepada user maupun responden pekerja wanita Karo dan 95,3 % wanita karo tertarik untuk membeli produk ini.Sehingga dapat disimpukan perancangan busana siap pakai dengan pengaplikasian Uis Karo ini dapat menjadikan sebuah media dalam memperkenalkan Uis Karo dan sebagai upaya diferensasikan motif dan Uis Karo dengan Kain tradisional lainnya dan juga menjadi sebuah pilihan busana siap pakai dengan teknik convertible yang dapat beralih fungsi sehingga wanita dewasa awal dapat memiliki berbagai macam look dalam satu produk baju
