Perancangan Ilustrasi Pada Naskah Buku Anak “Uhuk!!! Sena Batuk”

The final project that the author and the team will produce is a children's book
manuscript with a theme of coughing etiquette. In its development, the author will
play the role of a graphic designer/illustrator. Based on this role, the author will
create the final project with the title "Illustration Design in the Children's Book
Manuscript 'Uhuk!!! Sena Batuk'". The literature review used by the author is the
theory by Vindaswari & Ulfah in the Journal of Fundamental Pendidikan Dasar
(2018). In this final project, the author applies the theory, which consists of 6 stages
for creating the design of a children's book product in the process of creating its
illustrations. The author will use a descriptive method with the following steps: (1)
Determining the theme (2) Creating the story's plot/storyboard (3) Character
selection (4) Creating the illustration drawings (5) Incorporating elements of the
storybook (6) Expert validation. The workflow applied by the author results in
2-dimensional illustrations without stroke outlines in most parts. Initial strokes are
only used to trace the previously made sketches, and the tools used are the Pen Tool,
Rectangle Tool, and Ellipse Tool. The final tracing results are colored using the
theory of the color wheel supported by Adobe Color. After coloring, the stroke in the
illustrations is removed.

Karya tugas akhir yang akan penulis dan tim hasilkan adalah naskah buku anak
bertemakan etika batuk. Pada penyusunannya, penulis akan berperan sebagai
perancang grafis/ilustrator. Berdasarkan peran tersebut, penulis akan menyusun tugas
akhir dengan judul “Perancangan Ilustrasi pada Naskah Buku Anak “Uhuk!!! Sena
Batuk”. Tinjauan pustaka yang penulis gunakan adalah teori Vindaswari & Ulfah
pada Jurnal Fundamental Pendidikan Dasar (2018). Dalam tugas akhir ini, penulis
menggunakan teori tersebut yang dijabarkan dalam 6 tahap untuk pembuatan desain
produk buku anak dalam proses membuat ilustrasinya. Penulis akan menggunakan
metode deskriptif dengan langkah kerja sebagai berikut: (1) Menentukan tema (2)
Membuat alur cerita/storyboard (3) Penentuan karakter/tokoh (4) Membuat ilustrasi
gambar (5) Penggabungan elemen-elemen buku cerita (6) Validasi ahli. Langkah
kerja yang diaplikasikan oleh penulis menghasilkan ilustrasi berbentuk 2 dimensi
tanpa sisi stroke di sebagian besarnya. Stroke awal yang digunakan hanya untuk
men-tracing sketsa yang sudah dibuat sebelumnya, Tool yang digunakan adalah Pen
Tool, Rectangle Tool, dan Elipse Tool. Hasil tracing yang sudah jadi diwarnai dengan
penggunaan teori roda warna yang didukung oleh Adobe Color. Setelah diwarnai
maka stroke pada ilustrasi dihilangkan.
