Abstract

Visual identity is a very important asset for an entity, among others as a sign of ownership, quality assurance, preventing imitation or piracy. However, Indonesian people still do not understand how important a visual identity is for a company, especially UMKM. In fact, the contribution of UMKM in Indonesia is quite good for the national economy. However, because there are still many UMKM who do not understand the importance of visual identity in their business, it is difficult for business actors to promote the businesses they have started. Therefore, the design of this Final Project work aims to design a visual identity for an UMKM named Mie Jogja Mbahman in the form of a Graphic Standard Manual which contains guidelines for applying logos, colors, typography, graphic elements that have been designed for various media. The author applies design theory such as design elements, design principles, layouts, and typography to the process of designing this work. There is also the design of promotional media designs for Mie Jogja Mbahman as supporting works consisting of stationary, collateral, packaging, wardrobe, and merchandise.

Identitas visual merupakan aset yang sangat penting bagi sebuah entitas, antara lain sebagai tanda kepemilikan, jaminan kualitas, mencegah peniruan atau pembajakan. Namun, masyarakat Indonesia masih kurang memahami betapa pentingnya sebuah identitas visual pada sebuah perusahaan, terutama UMKM. Padahal, kontribusi UMKM di Indonesia cukup baik terhadap perekonomian nasional. Namun, karena masih banyak UMKM yang belum memahami pentingnya identitas visual pada usahanya, mengakibatkan para pelaku usaha kesulitan untuk mempromosikan usaha yang dirintisnya. Maka dari itu, perancangan karya Tugas Akhir ini bertujuan untuk merancang identitas visual sebuah UMKM bernama Mie Jogja Mbahman dalam bentuk Graphic Standard Manual yang berisikan pedoman penerapan logo, warna, tipografi, elemen grafis yang telah dirancang pada berbagai media. Penulis menerapkan teori desain seperti elemen desain, prinsip desain, layout, dan tipografi untuk proses perancangan karya ini. Terdapat juga perancangan desain media promosi Mie Jogja Mbahman sebagai karya pendukung yang terdiri dari stationary, collateral, packaging, wardrobe, dan merchandise.
