LAPORAN TUGAS AKHIR PEMBUATAN BUSANA MODEST DARI KAIN SISA PRODUKSI INDUSTRI RUMAH DENIM COMIC JEANS MENGGUNAKAN TEKNIK PATCHWORK

Perusahaan Rumah Denim dan Jeans adalah industri yang bergerak dalam produksi komoditi jeans, dan memiliki sembilan cabang. perusahaan tersebut dapat menghasilkan limbah produksi kain sisa denim sebanyak 45-50 kg per minggunya pada setiap cabangnya dan belum memiliki solusi dalam mengelola limbah produksi yang dihasilkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memberikan alternatif eksplorasi manipulasi kain dengan menggabungkan teknik patchwork untuk menciptakan busana modest ramah lingkungan dari sisa kain produksi, yang memiliki nilai estetika dan fungsionalitas serta memberikan nilai jual pada Rumah Denim dan Jeans. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif eksplorasi dengan menggunakan pendekatan design thingking Hasso Platner, yang terdiri dari 5 tahap emphitize, define, ideate, prototype, dan test. Hasil penelitian, pengembangan teknik patchwork dengan penggabungan teknik makrame dan anyaman sebagai modote teknik manipulasi kain dari pemanfaatan sisa kain denim. Hasil produk adalah 3 busana modest wanita menggunakan teknik pachwork dengan detail makrame dan anyaman melalui tahapan design thingking, di mulai dari eksplorasi teknik manipulasi kain, desain, analisis desain, pembuatan pola, memotong bahan menjahit, fitting, uji kelayakan, hingga proses foto produk. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemanfaatan sisa kain denim dapat diolah dengan kombinasi teknik pacthwork, makrame, anyaman menjadi sebuah produk modest siap pakai untuk wanita usia 20-25 tahun dengan style art casual dan look arty.

The Denim and Jeans House Company is an industry that is engaged in theproduction of jeans commodities, and has nine branches. The company can produce 45-50 kg of denim fabric production waste per week at each branch and does not yet have a solution for managing the production waste produced. The aim of this research is to provide an alternative exploration of fabric manipulation by combining patchwork techniques to create simple, environmentally friendly clothing from leftover production fabric, which has aesthetic and functional value and provides selling value to the Denim and Jeans House. This research method is qualitative exploration using Hasso Platner's design thinking approach, which consists of 5 stages emphatize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The results of the research are the development of a patchwork technique by combining macrame and woven techniques as a modote for biological fabric techniques from the use of leftover denim fabric. The product results are 3 simple women's clothing using pachwork techniques with macrame and woven details through the design thinking stages, starting from exploring fabric manipulation techniques, design, design analysis, pattern making, sewing material cutting, fitting, feasibility testing, to the product photo process. So it can be concluded that the use of leftover denim fabric can be processed using a combination of patchwork, macrame and woven techniques into a simple, ready-to-wear product for women aged 20-25 years with a casual art style and arty look.
