Abstract
ABSTRAK
Kemasan standing pouch merupakan kemasan fleksibel yang kualitasnya dipengaruhi oleh proses sealing, khususnya pengaturan suhu yang menentukan kualitas ikatan pada area seal. Suhu sealing yang tidak sesuai dapat menyebabkan kebocoran dan menurunkan fungsi perlindungan kemasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh variasi suhu sealing terhadap kualitas kemasan standing pouch serta menentukan suhu sealing yang optimal. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimen menggunakan kemasan berbahan Nylon 15 µm dan LLDPE 140 µm yang diproduksi dengan mesin bag making. Variasi suhu diterapkan pada area side seal dan bottom seal, kemudian dievaluasi melalui visual inspection, vacuum test, drop test, compression test, dan seal strength test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan suhu sealing meningkatkan integritas seal, ketahanan terhadap tekanan, dan kekuatan seal, serta mengurangi potensi kebocoran. Namun, suhu yang terlalu tinggi dapat menimbulkan ketidaksesuaian visual pada area seal. Rentang suhu side seal 149–152°C dan bottom seal 129–132°C menghasilkan performa terbaik pada seluruh parameter pengujian. Dengan demikian, rentang suhu tersebut direkomendasikan sebagai kondisi sealing yang optimal untuk meningkatkan kualitas kemasan standing pouch.
ABSTRACT
Standing pouch packaging is a flexible packaging whose quality is influenced by the sealing process, particularly the temperature setting that determines the bond quality in the seal area. Inappropriate sealing temperature can cause leaks and reduce the packaging's protective function. This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in sealing temperature on the quality of standing pouch packaging and determine the optimal sealing temperature. The study was conducted experimentally using packaging made of 15 µm Nylon and 140 µm LLDPE produced by a bag making machine. Temperature variations were applied to the side seal and bottom seal areas, then evaluated through visual inspection, vacuum tests, drop tests, compression tests, and seal strength tests. The results showed that increasing the sealing temperature improved seal integrity, pressure resistance, and seal strength, and reduced the potential for leaks. However, excessively high temperatures can cause visual inconsistencies in the seal area. The side seal temperature range of 149–152°C and the bottom seal of 129–132°C produced the best performance across all test parameters. Thus, this temperature range is recommended as the optimal sealing condition to improve the quality of standing pouch packaging.
