Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of aging time (0, 1, 3, 5, and 7 days) on Bonding
strength, Wetting quality, and color change (Opacity and density) of water-based
adhesive WB 9000 lamination using NPPL and LA WB inks (Yellow and White) on
VMCPP and VMPET substrates, through peel strength testing, visual Wetting
observation,
and
Opacity/density measurement analyzed descriptively,
comparatively, and via linear regression. The effect of aging on Bonding is ink
dependent: NPPL inks increase consistently (R² = 0.747–0.951), while LA WB
Yellow declines sharply. Wetting quality is unaffected by aging and is instead
determined by ink pigment type (NPPL Yellow is consistently poor). Density
increases and Opacity decreases gradually but remains above 97%. An optimal
aging time of 3–7 days is recommended, particularly for NPPL ink combinations,
to achieve optimal Bonding strength.

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh waktu aging (0, 1, 3, 5, dan
7 hari) terhadap kekuatan Bonding, kualitas Wetting, dan perubahan warna (Opacity
dan density) hasil laminasi water-based adhesive WB 9000 pada tinta NPPL dan
LA WB (Yellow dan White) dengan substrat VMCPP dan VMPET, melalui uji peel
strength, pengamatan visual Wetting, serta pengukuran Opacity/density yang
dianalisis secara deskriptif, komparatif, dan regresi linear. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan pengaruh aging terhadap Bonding bersifat ink-dependent: tinta NPPL
meningkat konsisten (R² = 0,747–0,951), sedangkan LA WB Yellow menurun
tajam. Kualitas Wetting tidak dipengaruhi aging, melainkan oleh jenis pigmen tinta
(NPPL Yellow konsisten buruk). Nilai density meningkat dan Opacity menurun
bertahap namun tetap di atas 97%. Waktu aging optimal 3–7 hari direkomendasikan
khususnya untuk kombinasi tinta NPPL guna mencapai kekuatan Bonding optimal.
