Abstract
ABSTRACT
Indonesia is home to a wide variety of fauna distributed across the country;
however, many species are currently threatened with extinction due to various
factors. In addition, the learning and reading interest of students at Pioneer
Elementary School has declined compared to previous years. This study aims to
develop a Virtual Reality (VR) application called ZooVenture as an educational
media for introducing endangered animals in Indonesia. The application was
developed using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method, which
consists of five stages: Initialization, Blueprint Design, Assets Preparation, Product Development, and Testing and Validation. The application was
evaluated using a mixed-method approach, consisting of the System Usability
Scale (SUS) and students' descriptive feedback regarding the developed
application. The results of this study indicate that the ZooVenture application
received positive responses from students and has the potential to serve as an
educational medium that can encourage students' interest in learning and
reading about endangered animals.

Indonesia memiliki berbagai jenis fauna yang tersebar luas, namun banyak di
antaranya kini terancam punah akibat berbagai faktor. Di sisi lain, minat belajar
dan membaca siswa SD Pioneer mengalami penurunan dibandingkan tahun-tahun
sebelumnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan aplikasi Virtual Reality
(VR) bernama ZooVenture sebagai media pengenalan hewan terancam punah di
Indonesia. Pengembangan aplikasi dilakukan menggunakan metode Multimedia
Development Life Cycle (MDLC) yang meliputi tahap Initialization, Blueprint
Design, Assets Preparation, Product Development, serta Testing and Validation. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan metode campuran menggunakan System Usability
Scale (SUS) dan tanggapan deskriptif para siswa terkait aplikasi yang
dikembangkan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi
ZooVenture yang dikembangkan mendapatkan respon positif dan berpotensi
sebagai media pembelajaran yang dapat mendorong minat belajar dan membaca
siswa terhadap materi tentang hewan terancam punah.
