Abstract
Indonesia's fisheries sector holds abundant marine resource potential, yet its sustainability is threatened by rampant destructive fishing practices and a lack of public knowledge regarding proper maintenance techniques. The high mortality
rate of ornamental fish due to poor water quality management serves as the primary background for this research. Therefore, this study develops an educational game
titled "Galatama," designed as an interactive learning medium to introduce sustainable marine ornamental fish farming. The game's main focus is simulating the application of Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) technology, an efficient cultivation method capable of maintaining the stability of vital water parameters such as temperature, pH, ammonia, and dissolved oxygen within confined containers. Through simulation mechanics, players not only learn the technicalities of managing water quality but are also introduced to various eco-friendly fishing methods that do not damage natural coral reef habitats. Beyond visual and
technical aspects, this game development emphasizes the vital role of audio elements in supporting cognitive processes. The implementation of background music with a relaxing tempo (95–120 BPM) is specifically chosen to build an immersive atmosphere, minimize negative emotions, and enhance player
concentration in absorbing educational material. Overall, this research integrates insights from modern aquaculture technology and interactive game design to support marine ecosystem conservation efforts while empowering the community
economy.
