Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the differences in Peel Strength between Solvent
Based (SB) and Water Based (WB) Adhesives, the efficiency of Bonding testing time,
the uniformity of bond strength across roll positions, and the print quality of the
laminated product in the Extrusion Lamination process. The research was
conducted at PT. Sapta Warna Cemerlang using a comparative experimental design
with a quantitative approach. Samples consisted of WIP Printing with PET><PE
and PE><ALU structures laminated using both Adhesive types, tested on 15
samples per group at three roll positions (Color Cone, Center, and Slitting Line)
across 5 production runs. SB samples underwent an Aging process for 15 minutes
at 85°C prior to testing, while WB samples were tested directly without Aging Time.
Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene's homogeneity
test, Independent Sample T-Test, and Cohen's d. Results showed significant
differences in both lamination bonds: PET><PE (SB = 159.75 gf; WB = 163.67 gf;
t = -8.9654; p < 0.05; Cohen's d = 3.27) and PE><ALU (SB = 202.14 gf; WB =
205.01 gf; t = -8.1798; p < 0.05; Cohen's d = 2.99). Bond strength remained
consistent across the three roll positions, and print quality, represented by the Pitch
value, showed no meaningful difference between the two Adhesive types. It is
concluded that Water Based Adhesive produces higher Peel Strength and better
testing efficiency without compromising the print quality of the laminated product.

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan nilai Peel Strength
antara Adhesive Solvent Based (SB) dan Water Based (WB), efisiensi waktu
pengujian Bonding, keseragaman kekuatan ikatan pada berbagai posisi gulungan,
serta kualitas cetak hasil laminasi pada proses Extrusion Lamination. Penelitian
dilakukan di PT. Sapta Warna Cemerlang menggunakan desain eksperimental
komparatif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel terdiri dari WIP Printing
berstruktur PET><PE dan PE><ALU yang dilaminasi menggunakan kedua jenis
Adhesive, diuji pada 15 sampel per kelompok di tiga posisi gulungan (Color Cone,
Center, dan Slitting Line) dari 5 run produksi. Sampel SB melalui proses Aging
selama 15 menit pada suhu 85°C sebelum diuji, sedangkan sampel WB diuji
langsung tanpa Aging Time. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas Shapiro
Wilk, uji homogenitas Levene's Test, Independent Sample T-Test, dan Cohen's d.
Hasil menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan pada kedua ikatan laminasi: PET><PE
(SB = 159,75 gf; WB = 163,67 gf; t = -8,9654; p < 0,05; Cohen's d = 3,27) dan
PE><ALU (SB = 202,14 gf; WB = 205,01 gf; t = -8,1798; p < 0,05; Cohen's d =
2,99). Kekuatan ikatan tetap konsisten di ketiga posisi gulungan, dan kualitas cetak
yang diwakili oleh nilai Pitch tidak menunjukkan perbedaan antara kedua jenis
Adhesive. Disimpulkan bahwa Adhesive Water Based menghasilkan Peel Strength
lebih tinggi dan efisiensi pengujian yang lebih baik tanpa menurunkan kualitas
cetak hasil laminasi.
