Abstract
ABSTRACT
The rapid development of information technology has driven the digital transformation of print media, including the implementation of electronic papers (e-papers). Media Indonesia provides an e-paper service to deliver digital news while maintaining its traditional print layout. However, initial usability evaluations using the System Usability Scale (SUS) with 65 respondents yielded an average score of 49.23. According to Bangor, Kortum, and Miller's interpretation, this score falls under Grade F, representing an "OK/Poor" adjective rating and Marginal-Low Acceptability, well below the global benchmark score of 68. This study aims to redesign the user interface of Media Indonesia's e-paper website using the User-Centered Design (UCD) approach based on the ISO 9241-210 standard to enhance usability and user satisfaction. The methodology follows an iterative process comprising understanding the context of use, specifying user requirements, producing design solutions (user flows, wireframes, design systems, and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma), and evaluating the design. The final usability evaluation of the resulting prototype showed a substantial increase in the SUS score to 82.65, transitioning into Grade A, with a "Good" Adjective Rating and fully Acceptable status. This 33.42-point improvement (approximately 67.9%) proves that the application of User-Centered Design effectively resolves interface limitations and optimizes the overall digital reading experience.
