PERANCANGAN MODUL PEMBELAJARAN TEORI DASAR DESAIN GRAFIS UNTUK MAHASISWA PEMULA PROGRAM STUDI D3 DESAIN GRAFIS

Lack of structured learning materials makes it difficult for first-year students in the Diploma III Graphic Design Program to independently study basic graphic design theory. This project developed a module on basic design theory using the Design Thinking method, covering empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test stages. The module covers five topics: What Is Design, Design Thinking, Design Principles, Color Theory, and Typography. A readability test was conducted via questionnaire with 16 students of the Diploma III Graphic Design Program at Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif PSDKU Makassar. Results showed all respondents gave positive feedback on clarity, organization, illustrations, and visual appearance, with 68.8% feeling they understood the material better, while the rest did not. This reflects respondents' perceptions from the readability test, not the module's learning effectiveness. The module can serve as a supplementary resource for the Introduction to Design course.
