EKSPLORASI NATURE PAINTBRUSH MENGGUNAKAN PEWARNA ALAM KETAPANG PADA BUSANA ECOPRINT KAINUNA

This study aims to explore the nature paintbrush technique using ketapang natural dye as a motif development method for Kainuna Ecoprint garments. The research was motivated by the partner's need to establish a distinctive visual identity while utilizing ketapang dye as part of the brand's DNA. The study employed the Stanford d.school Design Thinking approach, consisting of the stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The exploration involved testing various natural brush materials, dye concentrations, and brushstroke techniques to create unique organic motifs. The results indicate that the nature paintbrush technique combined with ketapang natural dye produces aesthetically distinctive motifs, strengthens Kainuna's visual identity, and offers an innovative alternative for ecoprint fashion development. These findings are expected to contribute to sustainable fashion practices by providing references for designers and artisans in developing environmentally friendly textile motifs through natural dyes and experimental surface design techniques.

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi teknik nature paintbrush menggunakan pewarna alam ketapang sebagai pengembangan motif pada busana Kainuna Ecoprint. Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan mitra untuk menciptakan ciri khas visual yang membedakan produknya dari kompetitor, sekaligus memanfaatkan pewarna ketapang sebagai bagian dari DNA merek. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan Design Thinking Stanford d.school yang meliputi tahap empathize, define, ideate, prototype, dan test. Eksplorasi dilakukan melalui pengujian berbagai material kuas alami, konsentrasi pewarna, serta teknik sapuan untuk menghasilkan karakter motif yang unik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknik nature paintbrush dengan pewarna alam ketapang mampu menghasilkan motif organik yang memiliki nilai estetika tinggi, memperkuat identitas visual Kainuna, serta memberikan alternatif inovasi dalam pengembangan desain busana ecoprint. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi pelaku industri fesyen berkelanjutan dalam mengembangkan motif berbasis pewarna alam dan teknik eksploratif.
