ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the workflow of the offset printing plate making process using the Computer to Conventional Plate (CTCP) machine, to describe the forms of control applied at each stage, and to identify the results of such control. The method used was descriptive qualitative, conducted through direct observation, interviews, literature review, and documentation in the prepress department of PT Medan Media Grafikatama.The results showed that the workflow of offset printing plate making using the CTCP machine consists of six main stages: production file preparation, layout and imposition, CTCP machine preparation, plate installation, plate imaging, and plate quality inspection. Control was applied systematically at each stage, including periodic maintenance such as draining and replacing the developer solution. The consistent implementation of control measures proved effective in minimizing production errors and maintaining plate quality in accordance with company standards. Therefore, proper control at every stage is a key factor in maintaining production quality and improving work efficiency at PT Medan Media Grafikatama.

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui alur kerja proses pembuatan pelat cetak offset pada mesin CTCP, mendeskripsikan bentuk pengontrolan yang diterapkan pada setiap tahapan, serta mengetahui hasil dari pengontrolan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif melalui observasi langsung, wawancara, studi pustaka, dan dokumentasi pada bagian prepress PT Medan Media Grafikatama.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alur kerja pembuatan pelat cetak offset pada mesin CTCP terdiri atas enam tahapan utama, yaitu persiapan file produksi, proses layout dan imposition, persiapan mesin CTCP, pemasangan pelat, proses imaging pelat, dan pemeriksaan kualitas hasil pelat. Pengontrolan diterapkan secara sistematis pada setiap tahapan, termasuk perawatan berkala berupa pengurasan dan penggantian cairan developer. Penerapan pengontrolan secara konsisten terbukti mampu meminimalkan kesalahan produksi dan menjaga kualitas pelat cetak sesuai standar perusahaan. Dengan demikian, pengontrolan yang baik pada setiap tahapan merupakan faktor kunci dalam menjaga kualitas produksi dan meningkatkan efisiensi kerja di PT Medan Media Grafikatama.
