FILM PENDEK ANIMASI 3D “PRAYING HANDS” (CONCEPT ART CHARACTER & ENVIRONMENT, 3D ANIMATED)

Abstract
This writing aims to explain the stages of the process in working on the 3D Animated Short Film "Praying Hands". “Praying Hands” is a story that tells about the struggle of Albrecht Durer and Albert Durer to be able to attend an art school, but one of them has to pay for art school due to the economic limitations of their family. In the end they drew lots about who went to school and who paid for the school, and Albert Durer had to pay for his brother's schooling. Albrecht promised his younger brother Albert when he finished school later, but working in the mines damaged Albert's hands so he could not paint. Feeling guilty, Albrecht asked Albert to close his hands for him to paint, so that people could recognize his kindness.
Based on the story above, the author will make a 3D animated film, with the author's jobdesk, namely concept art, and 3D Animated, by working on concept art using the manual drawing method, then for 3D Animated using Autodesk Maya software, along with the plugins that the author has. However, from all that work, there is something that must be considered, especially in the concept art work, where the need for references that are in accordance with the era of the "Praying Hands" story occurs. However, not all references that the author can get, according to the era of the story, therefore to make it look logical, and can be said to be appropriate, the author uses several references and makes it as simple as possible. And in the work of 3D Animated, it is necessary to understand the 12 principles of animation so that the animation results can look good. And with the help of a plugin, it can make it easier to work on 3D Animated, where the author can use the data that has been saved through the plugin so that it can be reused if there is a similar animation movement.

Abstrak
Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan tahap proses dalam pengerjaan Film Pendek Animasi 3D “Praying Hands”. “Praying Hands” adalah sebuah kisah yang menceritakan tentang perjuangan Albrecht Durer dan Albert Durer untuk bisa bersekolah di sekolah seni, namun salah satu dari mereka harus membiayai sekolah seni karena keterbatasan ekonomi dari keluarga mereka. Akhirnya mereka mengundi siapa yang bersekolah dan siapa yang membiayai sekolah, dan Albert Durer yang harus membiayai sekolah kakaknya. Albrecht berjanji kepada adiknya Albert jika sudah selesai sekolah nanti, namun karena bekerja di tambang membuat tangan Albert menjadi rusak sehingga ia tidak bisa melukis. Karena merasa bersalah Albrecht, meminta Albert mengatupkan tangannya untuk ia lukis, supaya orang- orang bisa mengenal kebaikannya.

Berdasarkan cerita diatas Penulis akan membuat film animasi 3D, dengan jobdesk penulis yaitu concept art, dan 3D Animated, dengan pengerjaan concept art menggunakan metode gambar manual, lalu untuk 3D Animated menggunakan software Autodesk Maya, beserta Plugin yang Penulis miliki. Namun dari semua pengerjaan itu, ada yang harus diperhatikan terutama dalam pengerjaan concept art, yang dimana perlunya referensi yang sesuai dengan era cerita ”Praying Hands” terjadi. Akan tetapi tidak semua referensi yang penulis dapat, sesuai dengan era cerita itu terjadi, oleh karena itu agar terlihat logis, dan bisa dikatakan sesuai, Penulis menggunakan beberapa referensi dan membuatnya sesederhana mungkin. Dan dalam pengerjaan 3D Animated diperlukannya pemahaman 12 prinsip Animasi supaya hasil animasi dapat terlihat bagus. Dan dengan bantuan plugin dapat memberikan kemudahan dalam pengerjaan 3D Animated yang dimana Penulis dapat menggunakan data yang telah disimpan melalui plugin untuk bisa dapat digunakan kembali jika ada gerakan animasi yang serupa.
