EKSPLORASI MOTIF BATIK BETAWI KONTEMPORER ARTEFAK VOC BATAVIA PADA BUSANA SIAP PAKAI UNISEX (STUDI KASUS: RUMAH BATIK PALBATU)

Batik is a cultural heritage of the ancestors of the Indonesian people since a long time ago. Betawi batik is a type of batik whose motifs are influenced from the exactiran area. One of the MSMEs that raised Betawi batik is Rumah Batik Palbatu. Rumah Batik Palbatu also has a characteristic in batik using contemporary batik whose motif and style elements have no rules, and are free in creating a motif. Palbatu House SMEs have problems in creating new motifs whose motif elements are related to Jakarta's historical heritage. This writing aims to create unisex ready-to-wear clothes for 25-36 years old with a combination of new motifs inspired by Batavia VOC artifacts. In developing the motifs, the author uses motif stilation technique, where the motifs are made into a new form without leaving the original image elements. With the design method using the Hasso Plattner Stanford concept including the stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test. In creating new motifs, the author together with UMKM Rumah Batik Palbatu will create unisex ready-to-wear clothing with new motifs of Batavia VOC artifacts that are more fashionable and trendy using art casual style, Japanese look, blue and brown color combination. The expected result of this Final Project is to introduce the Batavia VOC artifact motif of Contemporary batik in the design of unisex ready to wear clothing to the public.

Batik merupakan warisan budaya nenek moyang bangsa Indonesia sudah sejak dahulu kala. Batik Betawi merupakan jenis batik yang motif terpengaruh dari daerah persisiran. Salah satu UMKM yang mengangkat batik Betawi adalah Rumah Batik Palbatu. Rumah Batik Palbatu juga memiliki ciri khas dalam membatiknya menggunakan batik kontemporer yang unsur motif dan gaya tidak memiliki aturan, dan bersifat bebas dalam menciptakan sebuah motif. UMKM Rumah palbatu memiliki permasalahan dalam menciptakan motif baru yang unsur motif berhubungan dengan peninggalan sejarah Jakarta. Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan busana siap pakai unisex untuk usia 25-36 tahun dengan kombinasi motif baru yang terinspirasi dari artefak VOC Batavia. Dalam pengembangan motif penulis menggunakan teknik stilasi motif, yang motif tersebut dibuat menjadi bentuk baru tanpa meninggalkan unsur gambar asli. Dengan metode perancangan menggunakan konsep Hasso Plattner Stanford meliputi tahapan empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test. Dalam menciptakan motif baru, penulis bersama UMKM Rumah Batik Palbatu akan menciptakan busana siap pakai unisex dengan motif baru artefak VOC Batavia yang lebih fashionable dan trendy menggunakan style art casual, look Japanese, kombinasi warna biru dan coklat. Hasil yang diharapkan Tugas Akhir ini adalah memperkenalkan motif artefak VOC Batavia batik Kontemporer dalam perancangan busana siap pakai unisex kepada masyarakat.
