EKSPLORASI MOTIF BATIK KONTEMPORER KERAK TELOR BETAWI PADA BUSANA SEMI FORMAL UNISEX (Studi Kasus : Rumah Batik Palbatu)

Rumah Batik Palbatu, which was founded by Budi Dwi Harryanto in 2013 in Tebet, South Jakarta, aims to educate the public about making and preserving traditional batik using canting and stamping techniques. Even though it has produced superior products in the form of contemporary batik inspired by Jakarta culture and art, including traditional Betawi culinary motifs such as Kerak Telor, as well as unisex clothing for the 20-30 year old market, Rumah Batik Palbatu is experiencing a decline in sales. This is caused by the lack of public interest in contemporary batik which is made using traditional methods and products which are considered monotonous and lacking in variety. This research aims to develop fabric motifs and fashion products from Rumah Batik Palbatu in order to increase public interest in traditional contemporary batik and increase sales. Based on the results of questionnaires and observations of 20 competitor brands, it was found that the kerak telor Betawi motif has a great opportunity as a motif for contemporary batik innovation. Writing uses the Hasso Plattner method which consists of 5 stages, namely Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. With this method, it is hoped that the development of fashion motifs and products can help Rumah Batik Palbatu achieve the goal of increasing public interest and sales of traditional contemporary batik.

Rumah Batik Palbatu, yang didirikan oleh Budi Dwi Harryanto pada tahun 2013 di Tebet, Jakarta Selatan, bertujuan mengedukasi masyarakat mengenai pembuatan dan pelestarian batik tradisional dengan teknik tulis canting dan cap. Meskipun telah menghasilkan produk unggulan berupa batik kontemporer yang terinspirasi dari budaya dan kesenian Jakarta, termasuk motif kuliner tradisional Betawi seperti kerak telor, serta busana unisex untuk pasar usia 20-30 tahun, Rumah Batik Palbatu mengalami penurunan penjualan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya minat masyarakat terhadap batik kontemporer yang dibuat dengan cara tradisional dan produk yang dianggap monoton serta kurang variatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan motif kain dan produk fashion Rumah Batik Palbatu guna meningkatkan minat masyarakat terhadap batik kontemporer tradisional dan meningkatkan penjualan. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner dan observasi terhadap 20 merek kompetitor, ditemukan bahwa motif kerak telor Betawi memiliki peluang besar sebagai motif inovasi batik kontemporer. Penulisan menggunakan metode Hasso Plattner yang terdiri dari 5 tahap, yaitu Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, dan Test. Dengan metode ini, diharapkan pengembangan motif dan produk fashion tersebut dapat membantu Rumah Batik Palbatu mencapai tujuan meningkatkan minat masyarakat dan penjualan batik kontemporer tradisional.
