Abstract

The development of technology in the digital era has influenced teenagers’ entertainment preferences, one of which is through online games. Genshin Impact, an RPG game released in 2020 by MiHoYo, has gained popularity among modest teenage girls in Indonesia. The character Kaedehara Kazuha has become a top favorite, as shown by an initial survey of 60 respondents, with 43.3% expressing their preference for him. This phenomenon presents an opportunity to combine Japanese pop culture with the need for modest fashion that emphasizes decency, particularly in Indonesia as a Muslim-majority country. This study aims to design a modest ready-to-wear fashion collection inspired by Kazuha to reach an untapped market. The collection adopts a Classic Feminine style and Japanese look, incorporates the original color palette of Kazuha’s character, and applies embroidery techniques. The theoretical framework refers to design principles, the concept of modest wear, and the influence of popular culture. The research method uses a qualitative approach with the Hasso Plattner Design Thinking model through the stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Benchmarking against 10 local MSME brands themed around Genshin Impact revealed no focus on modest wear. The final product is a collection blending Kazuha’s character elements with the modest style of teenage girls. In conclusion, this work offers a fashion innovation that integrates modesty values with digital entertainment while expanding the potential of Indonesia’s creative industry.

Perkembangan teknologi di era digital memengaruhi preferensi hiburan remaja, salah satunya melalui game online. Genshin Impact, game RPG yang dirilis pada 2020 oleh MiHoYo, populer di kalangan remaja wanita modest di Indonesia. Karakter Kaedehara Kazuha menjadi favorit utama, terbukti dari survei awal terhadap 60 responden yang menunjukkan 43,3% menyukainya. Fenomena ini membuka peluang penggabungan budaya pop Jepang dengan kebutuhan busana modest yang mengedepankan kesopanan, terutama di Indonesia sebagai negara mayoritas Muslim. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang koleksi busana modest ready-to-wear terinspirasi karakter Kazuha untuk memenuhi pasar yang belum tergarap. Koleksi ini menggunakan style Classic Feminine dan japanese look, mengambil paduan warna dari karakter Kazuha asli, serta menggunakan teknik bordir. Landasan teori mengacu pada prinsip desain, konsep modest wear, dan pengaruh budaya populer. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan model Design Thinking Hasso Plattner melalui tahap empathize, define, ideate, prototype, dan test. Hasil benchmarking pada 10 brand UMKM lokal bertema Genshin Impact menunjukkan belum ada yang fokus pada modest wear. Produk akhir berupa koleksi busana yang memadukan elemen karakter Kazuha dengan gaya modest remaja wanita. Kesimpulannya, karya ini menjadi inovasi mode yang mengintegrasikan nilai kesopanan dan unsur hiburan digital, sekaligus memperluas potensi industri kreatif di Indonesia.
