EKSPLORASI BATIK MOTIF PITA PINK IKON KANKER PAYUDARA PADA BUSANA SIAP PAKAI UNISEK (STUDI KASUS:RUMAH BATIK PALBATU)

Kanker payudara merupakan jenis kanker dengan prevalensi tertinggi di dunia, mencapai 16,2%. Ikon Pita Pink digunakan secara global sebagai simbol kampanye kesadaran, namun penerapannya dalam teknik batik masih jarang dijumpai. Menanggapi hal tersebut, Rumah Batik Palbatu (RBP) berinisiatif mengembangkan motif batik bertema kanker payudara sebagai bagian dari koleksi busana unisex siap pakai. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membuat busana unisex dengan motif batik Pita Pink. Metode pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, kajian pustaka, dan kuesioner dengan pendekatan Design Thinking Hasso Plattner Stanford (empathize, define, ideate, prototype, dan test). Eksplorasi motif dilakukan berdasarkan elemen visual ikon kanker payudara yang dipadukan dengan preferensi responden dari hasil kuesioner. Motif tersebut kemudian diaplikasikan pada desain jaket, celana, vest, dan kemeja kasual unisex. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penempatan eksplorasi motif batik Pita Pink dapat menjadi bagian dari busana siap pakai unisex yang tidak hanya memiliki nilai estetika, tetapi juga berperan dalam menyampaikan pesan kesadaran terhadap kanker payudara.

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer globally, with a prevalence rate of 16.2%. The Pink Ribbon icon is internationally recognized as a symbol of breast cancer awareness campaigns; however, its integration into batik techniques remains uncommon. Addressing this gap, Rumah Batik Palbatu (RBP) took the initiative to develop a breast cancer–themed batik motif as part of a ready-to-wear unisex fashion collection. This study aims to design and create unisex apparel featuring the Pink Ribbon batik motif. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, literature review, and questionnaires, using the Hasso Plattner Stanford Design Thinking approach, which consists of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test stages. The motif exploration process drew inspiration from the visual elements of the breast cancer icon and was refined according to respondents’ preferences gathered from the questionnaire. The final motifs were applied to the design of jackets, trousers, vests, and casual unisex shirts. The research findings suggest that the placement and adaptation of the Pink Ribbon batik motif can successfully be incorporated into ready-to-wear unisex apparel, providing both aesthetic appeal and serving as a medium to convey the message of breast cancer awareness to the public.
