PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH AKRILIK UNTUK PEMBUATAN LAMPU HIAS

The use of acrylic waste in making decorative lamps is one form of innovation in reducing the negative impact of industrial waste on the environment. Acrylic waste, which generally comes from the remaining production of the printing industry, laser cutting, and signage making, still has good material quality and is suitable for reuse. This study aims to process acrylic waste into creative products that have both functional and aesthetic value, namely decorative lamps. The design process is carried out through pre-production stages which include material removal and design planning, production stages in the form of cutting, forming, assembling, and finishing, and post-production stages in the form of product evaluation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that acrylic waste can be processed into decorative lamps that are visually attractive and have high utility value. This initiative also contributes to efforts to reduce waste and supports the principles of sustainable design. By utilizing waste as the main material, this work is a real example that creativity can go hand in hand with concern for the environment.

Pemanfaatan limbah akrilik dalam pembuatan lampu hias merupakan salah satu bentuk inovasi dalam mengurangi dampak negatif limbah industri terhadap lingkungan. Limbah akrilik yang umumnya berasal dari sisa produksi industri percetakan, pemotongan laser, dan pembuatan signage, masih memiliki kualitas material yang baik dan layak digunakan kembali. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengolah limbah akrilik menjadi produk kreatif yang memiliki nilai fungsional sekaligus estetis, yaitu lampu hias. Proses perancangan dilakukan melalui tahapan pra produksi yang meliputi identifikasi bahan dan perencanaan desain, tahap produksi berupa pemotongan, pembentukan, perakitan, dan finishing, serta tahap pasca produksi berupa evaluasi dan dokumentasi produk. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa limbah akrilik dapat diolah menjadi lampu hias yang menarik secara visual dan memiliki nilai guna tinggi. Inisiatif ini juga berkontribusi pada upaya pengurangan limbah serta mendukung prinsip desain berkelanjutan. Dengan memanfaatkan limbah sebagai bahan utama, karya ini menjadi contoh nyata bahwa kreativitas dapat berjalan seiring dengan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan.
