Abstract
ABSTRACT
This report presents the design of a motion graphic as a digital promotional medium for the Betawi Museum to attract public interest, particularly among younger audiences. The main issues addressed are the limited promotional reach and the declining awareness of Betawi culture among youth due to globalization.
Grounded in theories of cultural preservation, digital promotion, and the effectiveness of motion graphics, the design adopts an illustrative visual approach, light narrative, and elements of Betawi culture. The methods used include observation, interviews, literature review, and questionnaires.
The result is a 1–2 minute motion graphic presented in a dynamic and interactive format. This media is expected to strengthen the museum’s image, expand its audience reach, and support local cultural preservation in a way that is relevant to current technological developments.

Laporan ini merancang motion graphic sebagai media promosi digital untuk Museum Betawi guna menarik minat masyarakat, khususnya generasi muda. Permasalahan utama yang diangkat adalah terbatasnya jangkauan promosi dan menurunnya kesadaran generasi muda terhadap budaya Betawi akibat arus globalisasi.
Dengan landasan teori pelestarian budaya, promosi digital, dan efektivitas motion graphic, perancangan ini mengusung pendekatan visual ilustratif, narasi ringan, dan elemen budaya Betawi. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka, dan kuisioner.
Hasilnya adalah motion graphic berdurasi 1–2 menit yang dikemas secara dinamis dan interaktif. Media ini diharapkan memperkuat citra museum, memperluas jangkauan audiens, dan mendukung pelestarian budaya lokal secara relevan dengan perkembangan teknologi saat ini.
