Abstract

ABSTRACT
This study examines the effect of training on employee performance as mediated by skill enhancement among the Food & Beverage Service staff at The Dharmawangsa Hotel Jakarta. In the highly competitive hospitality industry, the quality of human resources is a decisive factor for organizational success. A quantitative approach was employed with a total sampling technique, involving all F&B Service employees as respondents. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using validity, reliability tests, normality test and path analysis. The results indicate that training has a significant impact on skill enhancement and directly improves employee performance. However, the increase in skills did not significantly mediate the relationship between training and performance. These findings highlight the importance of regular, structured training as a core human resource management strategy; however, other factors such as motivation, work environment, and reward systems are also needed to maximize the impact of skill enhancements on performance.

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh pelatihan terhadap kinerja karyawan yang dimediasi oleh peningkatan kemampuan pada karyawan Food & Beverage Service di Hotel The Dharmawangsa Jakarta. Dalam bisnis perhotelan yang kompetitif, sumber daya manusia berkualitas menjadi penentu keberhasilan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik total sampling, melibatkan seluruh karyawan F&B Service sebagai responden. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan uji validitas, reliabilitas, normalitas serta analisis jalur (path analysis). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan dan secara langsung meningkatkan kinerja karyawan. Namun, peningkatan kemampuan tidak secara signifikan memediasi hubungan antara pelatihan dan kinerja. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pelatihan berkala yang terstruktur sebagai strategi manajemen sumber daya manusia, meskipun perlu dukungan faktor lain seperti motivasi, lingkungan kerja, dan sistem penghargaan agar peningkatan kemampuan dapat berdampak maksimal terhadap kinerja.
