PERAN EDITOR DALAM PENERAPAN TEKNIK EDITING SPLIT SCREEN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN DINAMIKA VISUAL PADA PROGRAM TALK SHOW “CHECK COK KOST”

ABSTRAK
Penulisan ini membahas peran Editor dalam produksi program talkshow bertema
kehidupan mahasiswa laki-laki berjudul “Check Cok Kost”. Program ini dirancang
untuk membahas realitas mahasiswa laki-laki melalui pendekatan Editing Split
Screen untuk mengatasi kebutuhan menampilkan reaksi simultan dialog antara host
dan narasumber yang sering kali terlewatkan dalam pola editing cut-to-cut standar.
Dalam produksi ini, Editor bertanggung jawab atas tahapan perencanaan alur
editing, pengarsipan data, hingga tahap pascaproduksi yang mencakup normalisasi
audio, penambahan elemen grafis, dan penerapan teknik editing split screen
menggunakan perangkat lunak CapCut Pro. Melalui strategi penyuntingan dan
bedah karya, hasil produksi terbukti mampu menampilkan reaksi simultan antara
host dan narasumber secara bersamaan di dalam satu layar. Hal ini berhasil
meningkatkan dinamika visual dan memperkuat nuansa keintiman tongkrongan
yang sesuai dengan konsep acara. Studi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi
dalam pascaproduksi program televisi sejenis, terutama sebagai solusi teknis untuk
mencegah kejenuhan visual penonton.

"This study discusses the role of the Editor in producing a male college student
lifestyle talk show titled 'Check Cok Kost'. The program is designed to discuss the
realities of male college students' lives through a Split Screen Editing approach to
address the need for displaying simultaneous dialogue reactions between the host
and the guest, which are often missed in standard cut-to-cut editing patterns. In this
production, the Editor is responsible for editing workflow planning, data archiving,
and the post-production stage, which includes audio normalization, the addition of
graphic elements, and the application of the split screen editing technique using
CapCut Pro software. Through editing strategies and work analysis, the final
production is proven capable of displaying simultaneous reactions between the host
and the guest within a single screen. This effectively enhances visual dynamics and
strengthens the intimate hangout atmosphere, aligning with the program's concept.
This study is expected to serve as a reference in the post-production of similar
television programs, particularly as a technical solution to prevent audience visual
fatigue."
