Abstract

The development of educational games demands not only high-quality learning
content but also visual comfort and smooth gameplay mechanics. Recent studies indicate
that Sensory Stimulation, such as animation smoothness and control responsiveness,
significantly influences players' learning interest. However, 3D character development
often faces technical challenges, such as the "foot sliding" phenomenon, which reduces
immersion, and inefficient interaction mechanisms. This study aims to optimize the
exploration and interaction systems in the educational game "ReNew Earth" using the
Unity Engine. The development method employed is the Game Development Life Cycle
(GDLC), comprising initiation, pre-production, production, testing, and release phases.
As a Game Programmer, the author implements the Root Motion technique to synchronize
animation data with object movement, effectively eliminating foot sliding. Furthermore,
the interaction system is developed using the Collider Trigger method (OnTriggerEnter),
which provides detection area tolerance, replacing the performance-heavy Raycasting
method. Design Patterns such as Singleton and Observer are also applied to ensure a
modular code structure. The results of this study are expected to produce natural
movement mechanics and a responsive interaction system, thereby enhancing the user
experience in understanding renewable energy concepts.

Namun, pengembangan karakter
3D sering kali menghadapi kendala teknis berupa fenomena foot sliding (kaki tampak
pra-produksi, produksi, pengujian, hingga rilis.
pergerakan objek guna menghilangkan foot sliding. Selain itu, sistem interaksi
dikembangkan menggunakan metode Collider Trigger (OnTriggerEnter) yang
memberikan toleransi area deteksi, menggantikan metode Raycasting yang membebani
performa.
