PERANCANGAN DESAIN SAMPUL, TATA LETAK, DAN ILUSTRASI PADA BUKU NONFIKSI BERTAJUK “EUNOIA”

ABSTRAK

Buku nonfiksi tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai media penyampaian informasi, tetapi juga memerlukan penyajian visual yang mampu menarik perhatian dan membantu pembaca memahami isi buku. Oleh karena itu, perancangan desain sampul, tata letak isi, dan ilustrasi menjadi aspek penting dalam membangun identitas visual sekaligus mendukung penyampaian pesan kepada pembaca. Tugas Akhir ini bertujuan merancang desain sampul, tata letak isi, dan ilustrasi pada buku nonfiksi bertajuk Eunoia yang mengangkat tema relationship, kesehatan mental, dan pengembangan diri. Metode yang digunakan mengacu pada tahapan perancangan desain grafis menurut Khusnul (2020), yaitu konsep, media, ide atau gagasan, persiapan data, visualisasi, dan produksi. Konsep visual yang diterapkan adalah Reflective Healing Visual melalui penggunaan ilustrasi simbolis, palet warna warm earth tone, tipografi serif, serta tata letak yang sederhana dan memiliki keterbacaan yang baik. Hasil perancangan berupa desain sampul, ilustrasi isi, dan tata letak isi yang memiliki identitas visual yang konsisten serta mampu merepresentasikan tema buku. Perancangan ini diharapkan dapat mendukung penyampaian pesan penulis dan memberikan pengalaman membaca yang nyaman bagi target pembaca.

ABSTRACT

Nonfiction books not only serve as a medium for conveying information but also require visual elements that can capture readers’ attention and help them understand the book’s content. Therefore, the design of the cover, the layout of the content, and the illustrations are crucial aspects in establishing a visual identity while supporting the delivery of the message to readers. This final project aims to design the cover, interior layout, and illustrations for a nonfiction book titled *Eunoia*, which explores the themes of relationships, mental health, and self-development. The methodology used follows the stages of graphic design outlined by Khusnul (2020), namely concept, media, ideas, data preparation, visualization, and production. The visual concept applied is “Reflective Healing Visual,” achieved through the use of symbolic illustrations, a warm earth-tone color palette, serif typography, and a simple layout with good readability. The design outcomes include a cover design, interior illustrations, and an interior layout that maintain a consistent visual identity and effectively represent the book’s themes. This design is intended to support the author’s message and provide a comfortable reading experience for the target audience.
