Abstract
Digital games function as interactive systems that represent game world conditions through gameplay mechanics. One approach used is the plant-state system, which manages internal plant conditions (hydration, health, growth stage) as the primary representation of game state that changes dynamically in response to player actions. This study aims to design a gameplay system based on plant-state as visual feedback in a 2D plant care game entitled . Changes in plant care conditions are communicated through visual transformations of plants and the game arena without explicit numerical indicators, allowing players to intuitively understand gameplay consequences. This study employs a creation-based method using the Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC). The result is a 2D game prototype that demonstrates the implementation of plant-state-based visual feedback in plant care gameplay. The result is a 2D game prototype that demonstrates the implementation of plant-state-based visual feedback. User experience evaluation conducted on 24 respondents using the Game User Experience Satisfaction Scale (GUESS-18) yielded an overall mean score of 6.13 out of 7.00, indicating a very high level of user satisfaction and confirming the effectiveness of the visual feedback in delivering intuitive plant care education.
