Abstract

Marine ornamental fish farming has great economic potential, but the public’s understanding of proper farming techniques remains limited. Available educational materials are generally presented through conventional media, making them less appealing to beginners. This study aims to design low-poly 3D assets for the marine ornamental fish farming educational game “Galatama” as an engaging and efficient interactive learning medium. The research design is Research and Development, employing the Design Thinking methodology through five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The empathize stage was conducted through an analysis of three low-poly-style reference games. The define stage produced a coastal-themed visual concept dominated by the color blue, while the ideate stage resulted in a mood board, a sketch of the character Jafar, and an environmental design. The prototype stage included the creation of 3D assets, rigging, animation, user interface design, and integration into Unity using Blender. Testing with 37 respondents aged 15–25 yielded an average score of 81.30%, falling into the “Very Good” category. The research results indicate that the use of low-poly 3D assets successfully produced an educational game that is effective, efficient, and suitable for use as an interactive learning medium for marine ornamental fish farming.

Budidaya ikan hias air laut memiliki potensi ekonomi yang besar, namun pemahaman masyarakat terhadap teknik budidaya yang benar masih terbatas. Materi pembelajaran yang tersedia umumnya disampaikan melalui media konvensional sehingga kurang menarik bagi pemula. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang aset 3D low poly pada game edukasi budidaya ikan hias air laut "Galatama" sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif yang menarik dan efisien. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development dengan pendekatan metode Design Thinking melalui lima tahap, yaitu empathize, define, ideate, prototype, dan test. Tahap empathize dilakukan melalui analisis tiga game referensi bergaya low poly. Tahap define menghasilkan konsep visual bertema pesisir dengan dominasi warna biru, sedangkan tahap ideate menghasilkan mood board, sketsa karakter Jafar, dan rancangan lingkungan. Tahap prototype mencakup pembuatan aset 3D, rigging, animasi, antarmuka pengguna, serta integrasi ke dalam Unity menggunakan Blender. Pengujian terhadap 37 responden berusia 15–25 tahun menghasilkan rata-rata persentase 81,30% dengan kategori Sangat Baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan aset 3D low poly berhasil menghasilkan game edukasi yang efektif, efisien, dan layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif budidaya ikan hias air laut.
