PERANCANGAN MEDIA EDUKASI BUKU POP-UP TENTANG CARA MENYAYANGI HEWAN UNTUK ANAK USIA SEKOLAH DASAR DI SDS PERSATUAN UMAT ISLAM

ABSTRAK
Akses media sosial yang tidak tersaring dengan baik berpotensi membuat anak usia sekolah dasar terpapar konten negatif, seperti kekerasan terhadap hewan, yang dapat memengaruhi pembentukan empati anak terhadap hewan sejak dini. Kondisi ini menunjukkan pentingnya penanaman nilai empati melalui pembelajaran yang tepat. Namun, di SDS Persatuan Umat Islam, keterbatasan media pembelajaran interaktif menyebabkan penyampaian materi tentang cara menyayangi hewan kurang optimal. Buku pop-up “Petualangan Menyayangi Hewan Bersama Anya” dirancang sebagai media edukasi yang informatif dan sesuai dengan karakteristik anak usia sekolah dasar dalam menanamkan nilai empati terhadap hewan, serta memadukan ilustrasi visual, elemen pop-up, dan interaksi melalui cerita sederhana berbasis nilai keislaman berupa hadis. Buku pop-up ini dirancang melalui proses observasi, wawancara, studi literatur, dan pendekatan desain komunikasi visual.

ABSTRACT
Unfiltered access to social media has the potential to expose elementary school
children to negative content, such as violence against animals, which can affect the development of children’s empathy toward animals from an early age. This
condition highlights the importance of fostering empathy through appropriate
learning approaches. However, at SDS Persatuan Umat Islam, the limited use of
interactive learning media results in less optimal delivery of material on how to
care for animals. The pop-up book “Petualangan Menyayangi Hewan Bersama
Anya” was designed as an educational medium that is informative and suitable for the characteristics of elementary school children in fostering empathy toward animals, by integrating visual illustrations, pop-up elements, and interactive experiences through simple storytelling based on Islamic values in the form of hadith. The development of this pop-up book was carried out through observation, interviews, literature studies, and a visual communication design approach.
