Abstract
ABSTRACT
This research aims to analyze the implementation process of a 3D Storyboard in
the pre-visualization stage of the 3D animated film “Aksa: Dunia Tanpa
Halaman”. This study uses a qualitative method with a practice-based research
approach through visual observation, literature review, documentation,
practitioner interviews, and target audience interviews. In this study, the 3D
Storyboard refers to a hybrid 2D-3D approach, which combines 2D elements as
representations of characters, poses, or expressions with 3D elements such as
environments, properties, spatial layouts, blocking, camera placement, and
sequence arrangement in Blender. The results show that the 3D Storyboard with
a hybrid 2D-3D approach supports a clearer scene visualization process,
especially in determining camera composition, character positioning, object
relationships, and continuity between shots. In addition, this Storyboard supports
the visual evaluation process through practitioner feedback and target audience
responses regarding the storyline and literacy message. Therefore, the 3D
Storyboard with a hybrid 2D-3D approach can be used as a pre-visualization
medium to support the production process of a 3D animated film.

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis proses implementasi Storyboard 3D
dalam tahap pra-visualisasi film animasi 3D “Aksa: Dunia Tanpa Halaman”.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan penciptaan
karya atau practice-based research melalui observasi visual, studi literatur,
dokumentasi, wawancara praktisi, dan wawancara target Audiens. Dalam
penelitian ini, Storyboard 3D yang dimaksud menggunakan pendekatan hybrid
2D-3D, yaitu penggabungan elemen 2D sebagai representasi karakter, pose, atau
ekspresi dengan elemen 3D sebagai environment, properti, layout ruang, blocking,
penempatan kamera, dan penyusunan sequence di Blender. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa Storyboard 3D dengan pendekatan hybrid 2D-3D dapat
membantu proses visualisasi adegan secara lebih jelas, terutama dalam
menentukan komposisi kamera, posisi karakter, hubungan antarobjek, dan
kesinambungan antar-shot. Selain itu, Storyboard ini juga membantu proses
evaluasi visual melalui masukan praktisi dan respons target Audiens terhadap alur
cerita serta pesan literasi. Dengan demikian, Storyboard 3D dengan pendekatan
hybrid 2D-3D dapat digunakan sebagai media pra-visualisasi yang mendukung
proses produksi film animasi 3D.
