Abstract
ABSTRACT
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a significant public health issue in Indonesia.
However, preventive education for junior high school students is generally delivered through
conventional learning methods that lack interactivity, resulting in limited student engagement
during the learning process. This study aims to develop Misi Dengue, an Android-based
educational game with a Role-Playing Game (RPG) genre, as an interactive learning medium
to improve students' understanding of DHF prevention. The study employed the Research and
Development (R&D) method using the Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC) approach. Data
were collected through observations, interviews, literature review, Likert-scale questionnaires,
and pre-tests and post-tests. The developed product is a top-down RPG that integrates the
principles of the Mosquito Breeding Site Eradication (PSN) 3M Plus program into missions,
exploration activities, and interactive gameplay. The results of black-box testing confirmed
that all game functions operated as intended. Product validation achieved scores of 92% from
the material expert and 98% from the media expert, both categorized as Highly Valid.
Furthermore, a usability evaluation involving 30 students, using an instrument adapted from
Jakob Nielsen’s usability attributes and the USE Questionnaire, obtained an overall score of
77%, indicating that the game was Highly Feasible. The game's effectiveness was
demonstrated by an increase in the average pre-test score from 67.7 to 92.7 in the post-test,
with an N-Gain score of 0.77, which falls into the high category. These findings indicate that
Misi Dengue is highly valid, highly feasible, and effective as an interactive learning medium
for improving students' understanding of DHF prevention.

ABSTRAK
Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) masih menjadi salah satu masalah kesehatan masyarakat di
Indonesia. Namun, media edukasi pencegahan DBD bagi siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama
(SMP) umumnya masih didominasi metode konvensional yang kurang interaktif sehingga
belum mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini
bertujuan mengembangkan gim edukasi “Misi Dengue” bergenre Role Playing Game (RPG)
berbasis Android sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa
mengenai pencegahan DBD. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development
(R&D) dengan pendekatan Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC). Pengumpulan data
dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka, kuesioner skala Likert, serta pre-test
dan post-test. Produk yang dihasilkan berupa gim RPG top-down yang mengintegrasikan materi
Pemberantasan Sarang Nyamuk (PSN) 3M Plus ke dalam misi, eksplorasi, dan aktivitas
interaktif. Hasil black box testing menunjukkan seluruh fungsi gim berjalan sesuai dengan
rancangan. Validasi produk memperoleh persentase sebesar 92% dari ahli materi dan 98% dari
ahli media dengan kategori Sangat Valid. Selanjutnya, uji kelayakan terhadap 30 siswa
menggunakan instrumen usability yang diadaptasi dari atribut Jakob Nielsen dan USE
Questionnaire memperoleh persentase sebesar 77% dengan kategori Sangat Layak. Efektivitas
gim ditunjukkan melalui peningkatan rata-rata nilai pre-test dari 67,7 menjadi 92,7 pada posttest, dengan skor N-Gain sebesar 0,77 yang termasuk kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil
tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa gim “Misi Dengue” sangat valid, sangat layak, dan efektif
digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa
mengenai pencegahan DBD.
