PERANCANGAN DESAIN SAMPUL DAN TATA LETAK BUKU ANAK “KE MANA SEMUA MAKANANKU PERGI?”

ABSTRAK

Tugas Akhir ini bertujuan untuk merancang desain sampul dan tata letak pada buku anak nonfiksi berjudul “Ke Mana Semua Makananku Pergi?”. Buku sains ini ditujukan untuk media edukasi yang mengenalkan proses pencernaan makanan melalui pendekatan visual yang menarik, informatif, dan mudah dipahami anak. Penulis berperan sebagai perancang grafis dan ilustrator dalam proses perancangan buku ini. Metode perancangan yang digunakan mengacu pada teori desain grafis Ricky W. Putra (2020). Pengumpulan data melalui studi pustaka dan observasi, serta tahapan kerja yang terdiri atas praproduksi, produksi, dan pascaproduksi. Oleh karena itu, untuk menghasilkan buku anak yang menarik dan informatif diperlukan perencanaan yang matang mulai dari penyusunan konsep, pencarian ide, pembuatan ilustrasi, pemilihan tipografi, penyusunan tata letak, revisi, hingga tahap produksi. Hasil dari perancangan ini berupa buku sains nonfiksi berjudul “Ke Mana Semua Makananku Pergi?” berukuran 23 × 23 cm mengutamakan penggunaan ilustrasi, tipografi, dan warna yang sesuai dengan karakteristik anak.

ABSTRACT

This final project aims to design the cover and layout for a non-fiction children's book titled "Ke Mana Semua Makananku Pergi?" (Where Does All My Food Go?). This science book serves as an educational tool that introduces the process of digestion through a visual approach that is engaging, informative, and easily understood by children. The author acted as both the graphic designer and illustrator during the book's design process. The design methodology employed is based on the graphic design theories of Ricky W. Putra (2020). Data collection involved literature review and observation, while the workflow comprised pre-production, production, and post-production stages. Consequently, creating an engaging and informative children's book required meticulous planning—spanning concept development, ideation, illustration creation, typography selection, layout composition, and revisions, through to the final production stage. The project resulted in a non-fiction science book titled "Ke Mana Semua Makananku Pergi?" (measuring 23 × 23 cm) that prioritizes the use of illustrations, typography, and colors suited to the characteristics of children.
