PENERAPAN TEKNIK AD-LIB UNTUK HOST DAN KOMENTATOR DALAM METODE SEMI SCRIPTED PADA PROGRAM SPORTAINMENT “PADEL ECHOES”

ABSTRAK
Live sportainment programs require spontaneous communication while maintaining a structured program flow, making it necessary for scriptwriters to apply ad-lib techniques within a semi-scripted method to provide guided improvisation for hosts and commentators. This final project aims to describe the implementation of ad-lib techniques using the semi-scripted method in the live sportainment program PADEL ECHOES and to explain the scriptwriter's strategy in designing opportunities for improvisation while maintaining the program structure. Data were collected through direct and indirect observation of several sportainment programs as references, a Google Forms survey to identify the characteristics of the target audience, and a literature review on television scriptwriting, the semi-scripted method, ad-lib techniques, and sportainment. The results indicate that the semi-scripted method provides a clear program structure through segments, cues, and discussion points without limiting the spontaneity of the hosts and commentators, while ad-lib techniques enable communication to remain flexible, natural, and responsive to situations that arise during the live broadcast. The combination of these two approaches successfully balances structured scripting and improvisation, allowing PADEL ECHOES to deliver a communicative, dynamic, engaging, and well-organized live sportainment program.

ABSTRAK

Program live sportainment memiliki karakteristik produksi yang menuntut komunikasi berlangsung secara spontan tanpa menghilangkan struktur penyajian program. Kondisi tersebut mendorong penulis naskah untuk menerapkan teknik ad-lib dalam metode semi-scripted agar host dan komentator dapat melakukan improvisasi secara terarah. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah mendeskripsikan penerapan teknik ad-lib dalam metode semi-scripted pada program live sportainment PADEL ECHOES serta menjelaskan strategi penulis naskah dalam merancang ruang improvisasi yang tetap sesuai dengan alur program. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi observasi langsung dan tidak langsung terhadap beberapa program sportainment sebagai referensi, survei menggunakan Google Form untuk mengetahui karakteristik target audiens, serta studi pustaka mengenai penulisan naskah televisi, metode semi-scripted, teknik ad-lib, dan sportainment. Hasil penulisan menunjukkan bahwa metode semi-scripted mampu memberikan struktur program melalui pembagian segmen, cue, dan poin pembahasan tanpa membatasi spontanitas host dan komentator, sedangkan teknik ad-lib memungkinkan komunikasi berlangsung lebih fleksibel, natural, dan responsif terhadap situasi yang terjadi selama siaran langsung. Penerapan kedua teknik tersebut mampu menjaga keseimbangan antara struktur naskah dan improvisasi sehingga program PADEL ECHOES tetap komunikatif, dinamis, menarik, serta sesuai dengan konsep sportainment yang telah dirancang.
