PENERAPAN TEKNIK REACTION SHOT DALAM MEMPERKUAT PENGGAMBARAN EMOSI TOKOH PADA PROGRAM ANAK “JEJAK FLONA”

ABSTRAC
The production of children’s television programs in a live variety show format requires engaging and communicative visual presentation to ensure that educational messages are effectively conveyed to the audience. This Final Project report is motivated by the important role of the camera person in creating visual storytelling through the application of the reaction shot technique in the Jejak Flona program. This study aims to analyze the role of the camera person in implementing the reaction shot technique to strengthen the portrayal of characters’ emotions and support the delivery of educational messages. The research is based on theories of cinematography, camera techniques, and visual storytelling and employs a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The findings reveal that the implementation of the reaction shot technique effectively captures characters’ facial expressions and emotional responses, including happiness, surprise, confusion, curiosity, and enthusiasm. These visual cues help children better understand the storyline, recognize the emotional context of each scene, and remain engaged throughout the program. In addition, the technique enhances the visual appeal of the live variety show and reinforces the educational content delivered to the audience. Therefore, the camera person plays a significant role not only in recording events but also in creating expressive visual storytelling that strengthens audience engagement and supports the program’s educational objectives.

ABSTRAK
Produksi program televisi anak dengan format live variety show membutuhkan penyajian visual yang menarik dan komunikatif agar pesan edukasi dapat diterima dengan baik oleh penonton. Laporan Tugas Akhir ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya peran camera person dalam menghasilkan visual yang mampu mendukung alur cerita melalui penerapan teknik reaction shot pada program Jejak Flona. Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran camera person dalam menerapkan teknik reaction shot guna memperkuat penggambaran emosi tokoh dan mendukung penyampaian pesan edukatif pada program tersebut. Kerangka teori yang digunakan meliputi teori sinematografi, teknik pengambilan gambar, dan visual storytelling. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Hasil pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknik reaction shot mampu memperjelas ekspresi tokoh, seperti rasa senang, terkejut, bingung, penasaran, dan antusias, sehingga suasana serta alur cerita lebih mudah dipahami oleh penonton anak. Selain itu, teknik ini menjadikan tayangan lebih hidup, menarik, dan mendukung penyampaian materi edukatif secara efektif. Dengan demikian, camera person tidak hanya berperan dalam proses pengambilan gambar, tetapi juga berkontribusi membangun keterlibatan emosional penonton melalui penyajian visual yang ekspresif, komunikatif, serta mendukung tercapainya tujuan edukatif program anak.
