STRATEGI MENJAGA KESEIMBANGAN AMBIENCE DAN VOICE DENGAN GAIN COMPRESSOR PADA LIVESTREAM SPORT “PADEL ECHOES”

ABSTRAK
Program televisi “Padel Echoes” merupakan program live streaming sportainment
yang mengangkat kompetisi olahraga padel dengan pendekatan hiburan yang
interaktif. Dalam produksi program ini, peran penata suara sangat krusial dalam
membentuk keseimbangan audio yang mendukung penyampaian informasi dan
atmosfer pertandingan secara efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis
peran penata suara dalam menjaga keseimbangan antara ambience dan voice, serta
strategi teknis seperti penggunaan fitur gain compressor yang diterapkan dalam
produksi live streaming sport tersebut. Penulis menggunakan metode observasi,
studi pustaka, serta partisipasi langsung sebagai penata suara untuk mengevaluasi
efektivitas perencanaan, pelaksanaan, hingga evaluasi pasca-produksi. Hasil dari
penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan audio balancing yang tepat melalui
pengaturan threshold, rasio kompresi, dan makeup gain mampu menekan lonjakan
ekstrem suara latar, menghindari distorsi, serta meningkatkan kenyamanan
mendengar bagi penonton. Karya ini juga menjadi referensi bagi mahasiswa
maupun praktisi media dalam memahami peran teknis penata suara dalam produksi
program televisi live.

ABSTRACT
The television program "Padel Echoes" is a live streaming sportainment program
that presents padel sports competition through an interactive entertainment
approach. In the production of this program, the role of the audio mixer is crucial
in shaping the audio balance that effectively supports information delivery and
match atmosphere. This study aims to analyze the role of the audio mixer in
maintaining the balance between ambience and voice, as well as technical
strategies such as the use of gain compressor features applied in the production of
the live sports streaming. The writer employs observation, literature review, and
direct participation as an audio mixer to evaluate the effectiveness of the planning,
execution, and post-production stages. The findings of this research indicate that
proper audio balancing management through threshold, compression ratio, and
makeup gain adjustments suppresses extreme background noise spikes, avoids
distortion, and enhances the overall listening experience. This work also serves as
a reference for students and media practitioners in understanding the technical role
of audio mixers in live television production.
