VISUALISASI FOTOGRAFI FESYEN KOLEKSI 'ECHOES OF BENTENG' KARYA VALERIN CALISSA MENGGUNAKAN TEKNIK LIGHTING LOW-KEY

ABSTRACT

Fesyen photography serves as a strategic instrument in the creative industry for communicating a brand's identity. This research aims to visualize the "Echoes of Benteng" clothing collection by designer Valerin Calissa through commercial Fesyen photography. The collection's uniqueness lies in its fusion of robust architectural structures with modern aesthetics, requiring a precise visual approach. The method employed is experimental studio lighting using low-key lighting techniques. This technique aims to produce clean, luxurious images that optimally highlight the texture, material, and ornament details of the garments without disruptive contrasting shadows. The author acts as both photographer and creative director, managing all stages from pre-production, production, to post-production. The final outcome of this work is expected not only to serve as an aesthetic documentation medium for the designer but also as professional promotional assets capable of strengthening the exclusive image of the "Echoes of Benteng" collection in both local and international Fesyen markets.

ABSTRAK

Fotografi fesyen merupakan instrumen strategis dalam industri kreatif untuk mengomunikasikan identitas sebuah merek. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memvisualisasikan koleksi busana "Echoes of Benteng" karya desainer Valerin Calissa ke dalam karya fotografi fesyen komersial. Koleksi ini memiliki keunikan pada perpaduan struktur arsitektural yang kokoh dengan estetika modern, sehingga memerlukan pendekatan visual yang presisi. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimentasi pencahayaan di dalam ruangan dengan menerapkan teknik lighting low-key. Penggunaan teknik ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan citra yang dramatis, elegan, serta mampu menonjolkan detail tekstur, material, dan ornamen busana secara optimal tanpa gangguan bayangan yang kontras. Penulis berperan sebagai fotografer sekaligus pengarah kreatif yang mengelola seluruh tahapan mulai dari pra-produksi, produksi, hingga pasca-produksi. Hasil akhir dari karya ini diharapkan tidak hanya menjadi media dokumentasi estetis bagi desainer, tetapi juga berfungsi sebagai aset promosi profesional yang mampu memperkuat citra eksklusif koleksi "Echoes of Benteng" di pasar Fesyen lokal maupun internasional.
