VISUALISASI PERTANDINGAN ATLET PENCAK SILAT MELALUI FOTO STORY DENGAN BERBAGAI TYPE OF SHOT

ABSTRAK

Tugas akhir ini berjudul “Visualisasi Pertandingan Atlet Pencak Silat Melalui Foto Story Dengan Berbagai Type of Shot.” Karya ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih terbatasnya media visual yang mampu menggambarkan rangkaian pertandingan pencak silat secara utuh, mulai dari tahap persiapan, latihan, hingga pertandingan. Selain itu, penyajian pertandingan dalam bentuk foto story masih belum banyak digunakan sebagai media edukasi yang dapat menyampaikan alur cerita secara sistematis. Oleh karena itu, penulis menciptakan karya fotografi olahraga yang memvisualisasikan perjalanan seorang atlet pencak silat melalui
pendekatan foto story dengan penerapan berbagai type of shot.

Tujuan penciptaan karya ini adalah menghasilkan visualisasi pertandingan atlet pencak silat dalam bentuk foto story yang mampu menyampaikan informasi, teknik, serta dinamika
pertandingan secara runtut dan komunikatif. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka untuk memperoleh data yang mendukung proses penciptaan
karya. Proses pemotretan dilakukan di GOR Jimmy Hantu sebagai lokasi latihan dan GOR Grand Depok City sebagai lokasi pertandingan.

Hasil karya berupa 15 rangkaian foto yang disusun secara kronologis, dimulai dari tahap pemanasan, latihan teknik, sparring, persiapan pertandingan, pelaksanaan pertandingan,
hingga keberhasilan atlet meraih medali emas. Dalam penciptaannya, penulis menerapkan berbagai type of shot, yaitu Full Shot, Medium Shot, dan Medium Long Shot. Karya ini diharapkan dapat menjadi media edukasi sekaligus referensi dalam fotografi olahraga, khususnya dalam visualisasikan pertandingan pencak silat melalui pendekatan foto story.

ABSTRACT

This final project is entitled "Visualization of Pencak Silat Athletes' Matches Through a
Photo Story Using Various Types of Shot." This work is motivated by the limited
availability of visual media that comprehensively depicts the sequence of a pencak silat
match, from the preparation and training stages to the competition itself. In addition, the
presentation of pencak silat competitions in the form of a photo story has not been widely
utilized as an educational medium capable of conveying a systematic visual narrative.
Therefore, the author created a sports photography project that visualizes the journey of a
pencak silat athlete through a photo story approach using various types of shot.

The objective of this project is to produce a photo story that visually represents a pencak
silat athlete's competition while conveying information, techniques, and the dynamics of
the match in a clear and structured manner. The methods employed include observation,
interviews, and literature study to obtain supporting data for the creation process. The photo
sessions were conducted at GOR Jimmy Hantu as the training venue and GOR Grand
Depok City as the competition venue.

The final work consists of 15 sequential photographs arranged chronologically, beginning
with warm-up activities, technical training, sparring sessions, pre-match preparation, the
competition, and concluding with the athlete winning a gold medal. In creating this work,
the author applied various types of shot, namely Full Shot, Medium Shot, and Medium
Long Shot. This project is expected to serve as both an educational medium and a reference
in sports photography, particularly in visualizing pencak silat competitions through a photo
story approach.
