PENERAPAN TEKNIK PENCAHAYAAN HIGH KEY TERHADAP VISUALISASI KUE BASAH KHAS BETAWI DALAM FOTOGRAFI MAKANAN

Abstrak
Kekayaan kuliner tradisional Indonesia, khususnya kue basah khas Betawi, memiliki nilai budaya tinggi yang perlu dilestarikan dan dipromosikan melalui media visual yang menarik. Penelitian sekaligus karya Tugas Akhir ini bertujuan untuk memvisualisasikan estetika dan detail tekstur dari ragam kue basah khas Betawise perti kue kinca, kue talam, kue geplak, dan dodol Betawi ke dalam media fotografi makanan (food photography). Metode utama yang diterapkan dalam penciptaan karya ini adalah penggunaan teknik pencahayaan high key. Teknik ini dipilih untuk menghasilkan karakteristik gambar yang terang, meminimalkan bayangan yang tajam (soft shadow), serta memberikan kesan bersih, higienis, dan modern tanpa menghilangkan autentisitas produk tradisional tersebut. Proses visualisasi dilakukan dengan memperhatikan aspek komposisi, penataan makanan (food styling), serta penggunaan elemen pendukung budaya lokal seperti kain batik sebagai latar belakang guna memperkuat identitas kultural Betawi. Hasil akhir dari perancangan ini dipresentasikan dalam sebuah pameran tunggal fotografi makanan di Poli Media Galery Fotografi. Melalui penerapan teknik pencahayaan high key, visualisasi kue basah tradisional ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan nilai estetika visual objek, menarik minat generasi muda, serta menjadi referensi akademis maupun praktis dalam bidang fotografi komersial dan dokumentasi budaya.

Abstract
Indonesia's traditional culinary heritage, particularly Betawi traditional wet cakes, possesses significant cultural value that should be preserved and promoted through engaging visual media. This research, conducted as part of the Final Project, aims to visualize the aesthetic qualities and detailed textures of various Betawi traditional wet cakes, including kue kinca, kue talam, kue geplak, and Betawi dodol, through the medium of food photography. The primary method applied in the creation of this work is the use of the high-key lighting technique. This technique was selected to produce bright images, minimize harsh shadows by creating soft shadows, and convey a clean, hygienic, and modern impression while maintaining the authenticity of these traditional culinary products. The visualization process emphasizes photographic composition, food styling, and the use of supporting cultural elements, such as Betawi batik fabric as the background, to reinforce the cultural identity of Betawi. The final outcomes of this project are presented in a solo food photography exhibition at the Poli Media Photography Gallery. Through the application of the high-key lighting technique, the visualization of Betawi traditional wet cakes is expected to enhance the visual aesthetic value of the subjects, attract the interest of younger generations, and serve as both an academic and practical reference in the fields of commercial photography and cultural documentation.
