PERANCANGAN BUSANA SEMI FORMAL WANITA DENGAN EKSPLORASI PENEMPATAN RAGAM HIAS BATIK DEPOK MELALUI TEKNIK PANELING (STUDI KASUS: ETHNIC SAUSAN)

Depok and Troso woven fabric as part of its brand DNA. However, the placement of Batik Depok decorative motifs in its products is still dominated by the use of full motifs, limiting the exploration of motif placement. In addition, the paneling technique has not been optimally utilized as a design development strategy. This study aims to explore the placement of Batik Depok decorative motifs through the paneling technique in designing women's semi-formal apparel and to produce design alternatives that support the development of Ethnic Sausan's brand DNA. The study employed the Hasso Plattner Design Thinking model, consisting of the empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test stages. Data were collected through observation, literature review, benchmarking, interviews, and questionnaires. The design process resulted in 30 alternative designs, from which five final designs were selected. The findings indicate that exploring the placement of Batik Depok decorative motifs through the paneling technique creates a more harmonious and aesthetically pleasing visual composition while strengthening the visual identity of the Ethnic Sausan brand .

Brand Ethnic Sausan merupakan UMKM yang mengembangkan Batik Depok dan Tenun Troso sebagai DNA brand . Namun, penempatan ragam hias Batik Depok pada produknya masih didominasi penggunaan motif secara utuh sehingga eksplorasi penempatannya belum optimal, sedangkan teknik paneling belum dimanfaatkan sebagai strategi pengembangan desain. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi penempatan ragam hias Batik Depok melalui teknik paneling dalam perancangan busana semi formal wanita serta menghasilkan rancangan sebagai pengembangan DNA Brand Ethnic Sausan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Design Thinking model Hasso Plattner dengan tahapan empathize, define, ideate, prototype, dan test. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, studi literatur, benchmarking, wawancara, dan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menghasilkan 30 alternatif desain dan lima desain terpilih yang menunjukkan bahwa eksplorasi penempatan ragam hias Batik Depok melalui teknik paneling mampu menciptakan komposisi visual yang lebih harmonis, estetis, dan memperkuat identitas Brand Ethnic Sausan.
