KONSEP JUKSTAPOSISI UNTUK MENGGAMBARKAN KONFLIK ANTARA ARMAN DAN RAHANA DALAM FILM PENDEK "METRONOME"

ABSTRAK
Film pendek “Metronome” mengangkat konflik hubungan suami istri yang muncul dari perbedaan kesiapan dalam memiliki anak. Karya ini berangkat dari fenomena di mana konflik emosional dalam film pendek sering kali lebih banyak disampaikan melalui paparan dialog verbal, sehingga kurang memaksimalkan potensi bahasa sinematik. Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan penerapan konsep jukstaposisi sebagai strategi penyutradaraan dalam menggambarkan eskalasi konflik hubungan antara karakter Arman dan Rahana pada film pendek “Metronome”. Metode penciptaan karya diwujudkan melalui tahapan development, praproduksi, produksi, dan pascaproduksi. Strategi penyutradaraan diterapkan melalui penggunaan metafora dua buah metronom, pengaturan mise-en-scène, blocking aktor, dan pengelolaan ritme adegan. Hasil perancangan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan konsep jukstaposisi mampu memperkuat penyampaian konflik hubungan secara emosional dan tersirat tanpa harus menghilangkan intensitas dialog yang padat di antara kedua tokoh. Kontras elemen metronom yang selaras dan tidak selaras berhasil menegaskan realita batin bahwa harapan dan ketakutan karakter sudah berada di frekuensi yang berbeda. Dengan demikian, konsep jukstaposisi dapat menjadi strategi penyutradaraan yang efektif dalam membangun tensi dramatik pada film pendek “Metronome”.

ABSTRACT
The short film “Metronome” raises the relationship conflict of a married couple caused by differences in readiness to have children. This work is based on the phenomenon where emotional conflict in short films is frequently conveyed primarily through verbal dialogue, resulting in the underutilization of cinematic language. This paper aims to explain the application of juxtaposition as a directing strategy in portraying the escalation of relationship conflict between Arman and Rahana in the short film “Metronome”. The method of creation is implemented through stages of development, pre-production, production, and post-production. The directing strategy is applied through the use of two metronomes as a metaphor, the arrangement of mise-en-scène, actor blocking, and scene rhythm control. The results of this work show that the application of juxtaposition is able to strengthen the presentation of relationship conflict emotionally and implicitly without eliminating the dense dialogue between the two characters. The contrast of the synchronized and unsynchronized metronomes successfully asserts the psychological reality that the characters' expectations and fears are no longer on the same frequency. Therefore, juxtaposition can serve as an effective directing strategy in building dramatic tension in the short film “Metronome”.
