PERAN PENATA ARTISTIK DALAM MENERAPKAN PERAN PENATA ARTISTIK DALAM MENERAPKAN ESTETIKA RUANG SEBAGAI IDENTITAS SOSIAL PADA FILM FIKSI “DOSA TAK BERTUAN”

This research explores artistic direction's role in constructing social identity through space aesthetics in the short fiction film "Dosa Tak Bertuan". The study
focuses on how visual elements props, color, and texture represent the social stigma of the main character, Maya, in a 2000s slum. The objective is to explain the application of space aesthetics and its visual role in shaping a lower-middleclass identity. The author serves as the Art Director, responsible for designing the project's visual atmosphere. Methodology follows a descriptive qualitative approach using artistic research (practice-led research) through pre-production, production, and post-production stages. Findings indicate that limited functional properties, dull color palettes (earth tones), and coarse material textures
effectively communicate economic conditions and psychosocial pressures without
verbal explanation. Narrow spaces within the film set serve as metaphors for the social limitations of stigmatized individuals. In conclusion, artistic direction is a
strategic narrative instrument for constructing authentic social reality in fiction films.

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi peran tata artistik dalam membangun identitas sosial melalui estetika ruang dalam film fiksi pendek berjudul "Dosa Tak Bertuan". Fokus utama kajian adalah penggunaan elemen visual properti, warna, dan tekstur untuk merepresentasikan stigma sosial tokoh utama, Maya, di
lingkungan perkampungan kumuh tahun 2000-an. Tujuan penelitian adalah menjelaskan penerapan estetika ruang dan perannya dalam membentuk identitas sosial kelas menengah ke bawah secara visual. Penulis berperan sebagai Penata
Artistik yang bertanggung jawab atas perancangan atmosfer visual karya. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan riset artistik
melalui tahapan pra-produksi, produksi, dan pasca-produksi. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan properti fungsional terbatas, palet warna kusam, dan tekstur material kasar mampu mengomunikasikan kondisi ekonomi serta tekanan psikososial tokoh tanpa penjelasan verbal. Ruang sempit dalam set film berfungsi sebagai metafora keterbatasan sosial bagi individu terstigma. Kesimpulannya, tata artistik merupakan instrumen naratif strategis dalam mengonstruksi realitas sosial yang autentik dalam film fiksi.
