PERANCANGAN DESAIN SAMPUL, ILUSTRASI, DAN TATA LETAK BUKU EDUKASI UNTUK ANAK BERKEBUTUHAN KHUSUS

Tugas akhir ini membahas proses perancangan desain sampul, ilustrasi, dan tata letak buku edukasi untuk anak berkebutuhan khusus (ABK) dengan hambatan komunikasi dan perilaku repetitif. Tugas akhir ini dibatasi pada permasalahan mengenai masih terbatasnya desain sampul, ilustrasi, dan tata letak buku edukasi yang sesuai bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus melalui pendekatan desain visual edukatif. Pustaka yang penulis gunakan merujuk pada teori terkait panduan desain grafis oleh Khusnul Khotimah, teori desain grafis sebagai oleh Saputra dan Kesuma, teori desain sampul oleh Rohman dan Mahesti, teori mengenai ilustrasi oleh Gilang, Sihombing, dan Sari, mengenai tata letak oeh teori Widyatmoko, FX dan Jessica, Teori Pendidikan Anak(ABK) oleh Suharsiwi. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan tahapan praproduksi, produksi, dan pascaproduksi. Perancangan desain sampul dilakukan melalui tahapan praproduksi, produksi, dan pascaproduksi. Sedangkan ilustrasi dan tata letak buku disusun melalui tahapan praproduksi dan produksi. Hasil dari perancangan ini dapat menjadi media visual edukatif yang mudah dipahami, serta mampu mendukung proses pembelajaran anak (ABK) dengan pendampingan orang tua, guru, atau terapis.
This final project discusses the process of designing the book cover, illustrations, and layout of an educational book for children with special needs (CWSN) with communication disorders and repetitive behaviors. This study is limited to the issue of the currently limited availability of educational book cover designs, illustrations, and layouts suitable for children with special needs through an educational visual design approach. The literature referenced by the author includes graphic design guideline theory by Khusnul Khotimah, graphic design theory by Saputra and Kesuma, book cover design theory by Rohman and Mahesti, illustration theory by Gilang, Sihombing, and Sari, layout theory by Widyatmoko, FX and Jessica, and special education theory by Suharsiwi. The method used is descriptive, involving pre-production, production, and post-production phases. The cover design process is carried out through pre-production, production, and post-production phases, whereas the book's illustrations and layout are developed through pre-production and production phases. The result of this design can serve as an easily understandable educational visual medium, as well as support the learning process of children with special needs under the guidance of parents, teachers, or therapists.
